Why Did Van Susteren Ask Gingrich To Explain Landrieu’s Comments About Fox?
If ever there was proof of a Fox News segment geared entirely toward attacking Democrats, rather than informing viewers, it was Greta Van Susteren’s interview the other night with Newt Gingrich purporting to “explain” why Senator Mary Landrieu joined President Barack Obama in publicly criticizing Fox News.
Read moreAt The Super Bowl, Hannity Will Be Taking In Benefits Of Corporate Welfare
Sean Hannity just happened to mention during an interview with Joe Theismann last night that he’ll be going to the Super Bowl tomorrow. That got me curious about how much “regular guy” Hannity – you know, the one who loves Wal Mart and mocks “elites” – might be paying for such a jaunt. Lots, as I suspected. But while I was researching the matter, I discovered that Mr. Maker, Not A Taker, will be reaping (i.e. taking) the benefits of quite a nice chunk of corporate welfare.
Read moreGeraldo Rivera Uses Fox To Polish His Stump Speech
Geraldo Rivera visited The O'Reilly Factor tonight for an interview that sounded more like a campaign whistle stop. That's because it was. Even though Rivera is only “truly contemplating” a run. Earlier, he appeared on Fox & Friends, where he said he was working on “hon(ing) his message” and a friendly producer posted a banner saying, “Senator Rivera?” Tonight, host Laura Ingraham fed him openings so that he could sound off on various issues of the day. And that's not counting the Fox Latino column where Rivera more fully laid out his positions and promised "many other ideas to share along the way" if his candidacy "has legs." Just everyone pulling together to help out a fellow (Republican) colleague, I guess.
Read moreKirsten Powers Blames 'War On Fox' On Media Matters
We have a lot of respect for Kirsten Powers here. But sometimes she seems a little, uh, over-eager to score Fox Brownie points. Her recent piece on FoxNews.com is a good example. In it, she follows her Fox News colleagues in misinterpreting and overblowing President Obama's pushback against Fox News and – claims that the “War on Fox” is some kind of Media Matters cabal. Meanwhile, she is either blind or very forgiving of the kind of anti-Obama cabal going on at the very “news” network she is defending.
Read moreIn Anti-Abortion Screed, Bill O'Reilly Channels What Fetuses "Would Say"
Bill O'Reilly is an aging, conservative Catholic bloviator who doesn't have a uterus but has lots to say about those who do. He has become the national media spokesperson for those who, in seeking to take women back to the back alley, believe that the rights of fetuses supersede those of women. He received a "Courage Award" from a hate group for his contributions to a climate of hate in which Dr. George Tiller was murdered and he is now praised by anti-choice fanatic and Fox fave Lila Rose. As part of his "looking out" for us, O'Reilly now claims that he's on a divine mission to "fight for the unborn" which, in O'Reilly's warped mind, is "protecting the kids." And as America's fetus guardian, he knows what they're thinking! And so can you if you follow O'Reilly's Thursday "Tip of the Day" and read all about it in his latest column, "What the Babies Would Say?" - an article that, along with fetus channeling has more patented Dr. Tiller bashing and more patented Bill women hating.
Read moreHannity's Smear Of Hagel As An Anti-Semite Bellyflops
Apparently, whoever booked Pat Buchanan for a discussion on the Hannity show last night just assumed that the conservative commentator would go along with Republican Sean Hannity's smears of Chuck Hagel, a former Republican senator who had the audacity to accept President Obama's nomination for Secretary of Defense. Unfortunately for Hannity (and perhaps his hapless producer), they didn't bother to consider Buchanan's record of anti-Semitic dog whistles before trotting him out in presumed support of Hannity's smear of Hagel as an anti-Semite. Instead, Buchanan not only refused to play his expected part, he staunchly defended Hagel.
Read moreGeraldo Rivera Seriously 'Contemplating' Running For Senate
Chalk up Geraldo Rivera as the latest Fox News personality to enter, or considering entering, Republican politics. If he takes the leap he's "truly contemplating," he'll join the ranks of fellow Fox News alums John Kasich, Rick Santorum and Newt Gingrich. Did I leave anyone out?
Read moreMegyn Kelly Totally Freaks Out Over "Girls" Getting Drafted!!!!
Apart from the insane clown posse in the Christian right, the issue of women in combat is no big deal. Even Fox News, a reliable mouthpiece for Christian crazies, doesn't seem to have a problem with it. In a discussion with Fox's resident right wing, Iraq war supporting vet, Pete Hegseth, Megyn Kelly appeared to support the new policy. But in the time span of one week, Ms. Kelly has done a neck wrenching about-face with her almost hysterical commentary about the possibility that OMG, "girls," might be drafted because of the lifting of the ban on women in combat. Check out Kelly's latest hissy fit; but be warned that your monitor might start steaming because she was on fire. But one questions if this is genuine or if Kelly is just pimping the propaganda of hate group president Tony Perkins who claims that the presence of women in combat will cause an exodus of macho men and that will lead to the reinstatement of the draft. Hmmm.

Oh, that crazy Bill O'Reilly just loves to ambush people he disagrees with. All in the name of No Spin, of course. Tonight's victims? Al Gore and the people who went to see him speak in New York recently.
Read moreLimbaugh And Hannity: The Liberal Media Is In Cahoots With Obama's Divisive, Totalitarian And Socialist Agenda
Sean Hannity and David Limbaugh couldn't whine enough about that evil liberal media last night. It started with a complaint – no, a bitchfest is more like it – about MSNBC's “deceptive editing” of testimony of a Sandy Hook victim's father (as if Fox has never done anything like that) and then segued into blaming the liberal media for "totalitarian," "socialist" and "divisive" President Obama's re-election and popularity. Somebody call a waahmbulance!
