O’Reilly Loses It Big Time With Alan Colmes

Posted by Ellen -7843.60pc on March 05, 2013 · Flag

Bill O’Reilly had a major meltdown tonight with Alan Colmes. It has to be seen to be believed but let’s just say that O’Reilly was screaming at Colmes that he’s a liar and Colmes respectfully but firmly shot back, “Don’t you call me a liar.” Later, O’Reilly seethed, “It’s jack what you’re saying. There’s another word for it but it’s an obscenity.” In a subsequent segment, John Stossel told O’Reilly he had been out of line and “obnoxious.”

O’Reilly started out with a vicious chip on his shoulder in his Talking Points commentary immediately preceding the discussion. There he said,

It’s almost like Mr. Obama is sabotaging the country so he can reshape it. There comes a point where every nation in history gets what it deserves. Rome, Japan, Germany and Russia all were destroyed by venal leaders exploiting an apathetic population. I pray that doesn’t happen to us but we the people need to wise up fast.

Colmes came on and, as usual, did an excellent job holding up his end. And O’Reilly apologized to Colmes at the end. But not before he came off looking one big bloviating, bullying blowhard. It was a worse outburst than O’Reilly’s famous “Just shut up!” temper tantrum made famous in Outfoxed. And he kept simmering with rage afterward.

By the way, as Media Matters noted, Colmes had his facts correct. For some reason, O'Reilly couldn't accept them.

If you'd like to tweet your support to Colmes you can do so @AlanColmes.

The Left keeps throwing factless mud. Comes was great at this.

Any liberal who goes on that show owes it to themselves (and us) to smuggle in a loofah and just whip it out when Bill starts up. Just want him to know that we remember.

Bwaaah! Looks like BOR’s anger management problems came to the fore once again! Man, do I feel for his family and the folks who have to keep him happy.

Had to laugh at the way BOR quickly tried to move the goalposts on Alan. He asks for a program and so Alan names Medicare. BOR doesn’t really want to accept that answer so then he starts screaming “how much?!” LOL!

Well, BOR’s ratings have been down so no doubt he’s probably hoping his little hissy fit will get his viewership back up. And it just might – however, he made a complete ass of himself. His anger that Obama got re-elected (despite all his attempts to stop it) is just eating him up and, thus, we get this crap about Obama wanting to destroy the country. The folks rejected have rejected BOR’s version of things and his irrelevance has really pissed him off. How he can look in the mirror and feel truly good about himself and the kind of rude, unprofessional commentator he has evolved into is beyond me.

Btw, I too dislike it when BOR and others refer to him as Mr. Obama. It’s PRESIDENT Obama!

Bill, have you stopped taking your meds?

I could have sworn O’Loofah just had a “tip of the day” preaching civility.

You can bet Faux has their hands on some viewer polls showing a belief that their heroes are getting softer and not so confrontational. Klannity started up ratcheting up the crazy recently, O’Loofah was just late getting started.

You can bet he will get his ass rubbed and caressed by Miller tonite. And then they will discuss his No. 1 ratings to soothe his savage soul (i know, that man has no soul).

What’s hilarious is it was just the other night that Bill gave us advice on being rational.

From D. D. Tudor’s post:

“Why are the folks at Faux Noise so afraid of the truth?”

Because that will cause Faux Spews’ declining ratings to plummet EVEN FURTHER, which means a MASSIVE LOSS of advertising revenue.

This Obama-loves-to-inflict-pain-on-us meme seems to be getting some traction among the rightwing “pundits”.

Is this collective hysteria at work or something?

I find Stossel an odd duck ,but that he told Vile Bile that he was “out of line and obnoxious”, was a good point, and somewhat of a bayback, Vile Bile always snipes at Stossel.Miller will soothe Vile Bile’s wounded ego this evening with not funny comments to make the big boy giggle.

Normally when you watch someone behave in the way Bill displayed last night you wonder if perhaps they have some stress going on in their life with a personal issue, or it could be watching the Romney interview this pass weekend reopened his wounds on the sting of the defeat.

Of course sometimes psychoanalyzing someone can a waste of time, especially when the answer is simply that Bill is an egotistical pompous A-hole.

Only William James O’Reilly Sr. would have been pleased with that Boorish display.

Rupert, Roger, somebody, anybody, get Bellowing Billow some help. Spending on help for the mentally ill MUST be increased.

That was pathetic. Like Sean last week I guess they needed some gimmick to get people to talk to draw attention to themselves to boost their ratings.

The only thing Bill accomplished with this latest rant is he’s providing more comedy material for Jon Stewart and Steven Colbert.

Wow, just wow!

I agree with Colmes that what Bill did was “just fine”, since he revealed his true nature better than anybody ever could and the result is not pretty. Thanx Bill.

A disingenuous query: If medicare and social security are not “programs” what does Bill propse we call them ???

The WWE is an apt comparison, Jeff, but in watching Fox I often have flashbacks to the Seinfeld show. Not just for the vaccuousness of the characters but because this is a series of shows about nothing. They take a tiny detail or slip of an idea and chew it to death for 20 or 30 minutes in order to fill the space. What little substance there is can only be described as NOT ACCURATE in the real world. And what Bill lacks in intellect, he tries to make up for in sheer emotion. What an embarrassing spectacle. Bill was so clearly proved wrong and he behaved like a child.

And just earlier today (as I type this, it’s still Mar 5, 2013), we were treated to a lovely story about Billy-Boy:

*Bill O’Reilly Gives Advice On Being Rational? Really?

I guess we all know Billy-Boy’s motto: “Do as I say, not as I do.”

Between this and Bill’s homophobic motives for trying to re-write Colorado law, I think it’s a good thing that O’Reilly decided to be a media loudmouth. Think how dangerous he could be if he had chosen a profession where he held actual power.

I mean actual power, not the dumbest Americans taking him as Gospel.

An email I just got, perhaps meant for Fox:

As a right leaning independent voter I continue to be appauled by Bill O’Reilly (and Sean Hannity’s) treatment of guests from the opposing view. I used to be a regular viewer of both programs and have ceased for the most part. When I do watch occasionally, I’m reminded why I quit watching. They do a disservice to their guests and do nothing to promote actual facts let alone the Republican agenda for people who actually know what’s going on. In the long term, I think it will hurt FOX news’ brand as well. Tonight’s performance by Bill O’Reilly was inexcusable; he needs to go.

Anne-claire, I listened to this segment in the car, on my satellite radio, and I kept yelling, “Oh my God” over and over.

I sat and watched and hoped that Vile Bile ’s head would finally explode ,but alas I have to still wait a little bit more. But it was close and the screaming ,fingerpointing ,snorting and spitting made my day.

Maybe he needs to get back to drinking and forced phone sex with his staff?

Seems a little tense…

Shouldn’t he have “vented” in private? Once again, it looks like Bill isn’t being rational.

O'Reilly was so unhinged, I thought he might have some kind of breakdown.
