Every so often, a Fox host says something that reflects, at best, an utter lack of self awareness and, at worst, a total denial of reality. For instance, Bill O'Reilly's claim that he is "impartial" is, well, just a lot of bovine excrement. Last Thursday, we were treated to a real whopper from queen of mean Andrea Tantaros who, while attacking gays, bragged about her Christian tolerance.
During last Thursday's "Outnumbered" overtime, a segment which features the hosts bantering casually (?!) after the show, the hosts chatted about the meaning of Holy Thursday. But never wasting an opportunity to push the propaganda, Andrea Tantaros steered the conversation to the Indiana "Religious Freedom" law which Fox News fully supported in its original form before the gay bullies forced a change.
Tantaros asked if she could ask Fox's resident clergyman, Fr. Jonathan Morris about the Indiana law. But before she got into the law, she praised the Pope for his "message of tolerance" about how we should love the children and families of gay couples. She referenced Tammy Bruce who, on Fox & Friends, spoke about how, as a gay woman, she was involved in advocacy for gay rights "in the name of tolerance."
Tantaros explained that Bruce is "upset that these laws that were put in place not to discriminate against gays but to give people religious freedom and in the name of tolerance, that seems that seems to be lost." She described Bruce's "powerful message" saying "look, this is what we built our platform on...that is tolerance and acceptance of other people's lifestyle." (Uh, Andrea, being gay is not a "lifestyle.")
Tantaros then metaphorically patted herself on the back while letting us know what a paragon of Christianity she is: As a Christian, I was raised to love the sinner, hate the sin, God is the ultimate judge and I've tried to sort of walk my life in that way."
After this gem, she continued to pimp the propaganda with her comment that "it seems like Christians are being targeted a way that gays and lesbians should acutely understand." (Subtext - gays are the real bullies!)
Leaving aside the FACT that the law, as originally written, was touted, by its conservative, Christian supporters as a way to discriminate, let's examine how Andrea talks the talk but doesn't walk the walk. Here's list of "sinners" whom Andrea clearly doesn't love:
- President Obama whom she wants punched in the face.
- Nancy Pelosi who is "pro-rape."
- Liberal women who are a bunch of sluts.
- People who, according to Tantaros' standards, are too stupid to be allowed to vote.
- Muslims who should be shot.
- Women who have abortions.
- The staff at Jezebel.
- Planned Parenthood
Such an exemplary example of loving and oh, so tolerant Christianity - ya think?!
So gays should sympathize with a group that wants to discriminate against gays but legally can’t do so, and feels that not being legally allowed to discriminate is a form of persecution. This woman is a gibbering fool.
As they say, Tantaros is a “butterface.” She may have a nice body, “but her face”…………yikes!
