Andrea Tantaros, a single 35 year old, is very private about her relationship status. But she is very public about her view that liberal women are a bunch of sluts. One hopes that if she is involved, it's a chaste relationship because, as we saw on yesterday's Outnumbered, she's still slut shaming women who own their sexuality.
Yesterday's Outnumbered features a discussion about, OMG, the rise in children born to unmarried couples - a big f--king deal for the patriarchal right wing which sees, in the demise of the "traditional" family, the demise of life as we know it.
Tantaros introduced the topic and began the slut shaming: " Couples not getting married, shacking up, having babies , why." Fox doctor Manny Alvarez Foxsplained that it's all because those darned immigrants just don't respect American tradition: "A lot of times, it’s cultural. There are many people coming to this country where that is a norm, where people meet, they get together, they want to have a baby. And bingo, they come back here and they don’t think about the marriage thing."
In hitting the culture war meme, he noted that "there are some people who don't believe in marriage and that's probably a problem." He lamented that "fidelity is being lost because the whole concept of marriage, whether it is heterosexual marriage or homosexual marriage, whatever the case may be, is really something that people are not paying attention."
Tantaros opined that men "are specifically opting out of marriage" - a phenomenon which the geniuses over at Breitbart have "dubbed the sexodus." Harris Faulkner, in assuring the audience that she was raised by good, married black people and not a slutty welfare taker, said that she was raised by Shirley and Bob. She then made a bizarre reference about how "this is all about the milk and the cow" and asserted that men don't have pressure to get married because "we are a sexually free society."
Tantaros launched into her liberal women are sluts mode or, as described by Wonkette, looking and sounding "like she’s just dropped the big reveal in a TED talk about emotional health or sustainable farming or something:" "Women have been encouraged to give it up freely with the rise of feminism, have sex like a man. So, they’re doing this and they’re not making the guy step up to put a ring on it."
Kennedy said it was all Tinder's fault.
So according to Tantaros, not a sociologist, feminists are slutting it up all over the place and not using birth control. Of course, in reality, it's those feminists who support birth control and Andrea Tantaros who said that a British woman who was terminating a pregnancy was "pure evil." As pointed out by Amanda Marcotte in her rebuttal to this Fox propaganda piece, "most single mothers are actually divorced and most women who have “out-of-wedlock” births are partnered with the father, often with plans to marry in the future." But hey, this is Fox so who needs facts?
But Fox News is on a sacred mission to denigrate feminism and shame single mothers, so in that sense Tantaros got er done! And if marital bliss is the only fulfillment for a woman, how come Tantaros DOESN'T HAVE A RING ON IT?! And if she doesn't, is she saving herself until she gets one? My guess is no, but then I could be wrong...
