Andrea Tantaros crossed a line that should have caused her to be fired on the spot but, sadly, will probably earn her accolades from her right-wing community: calling for actual violence against Obama supporters. On her radio show today, the co-host of Fox News’ The Five said,“If you see any of those people (Obama supporters) today, do me a favor, punch ‘em in the face.”
Tantaros was discussing the Obama administration’s investigation of journalists when she said:
This is Obama’s America. It’s like the Soviet Union. He said he’d change the country. He said it, he said it, he said it, and a lot of people voted for him. And if you see any of those people today, do me a favor, punch 'em in the face. We’ll be right back.
After she took a call from an Obama hater who objected to her call for violence, she “clarified:”
Well to be clear, I didn’t say punch Obama in the face. You’re going to get me arrested with this type of government, Bob, if you say that. …If someone voted for him, if someone voted for him. If anyone that you know who voted for President Obama, smack him down.
Let's not forget that just a few weeks ago, Tantaros had the extremely poor taste to smear President Obama's 15 year-old daughter in order to "punch up" her own anti-Obama screed against the FDA's decision to lower the age limit on the Plan B contraceptive.
Will Fox News and/or Talk Radio Network take action against her? Don’t hold your breath.
