The real war on Catholics was waged by the priesthood by allowing pedophile priests to attack children over and over again. Offering birth control to employees can’t really compare with that business. Still my hypocritical Catholic relatives (who ALL used birth control pills!) have the vapors over this. The Catholic Church should prove its purity and sell off all of its businesses.
I’ll assume the Romney campaign is savvy enough to realize taking campaign advice from a tabloid TV personalities is not the way to win the election. Hannity and Guilfoyle can pretend all day to be pundits offering helpful campaign advice, but the truth is that resurrecting the Wright connection would offer Hannity weeks of red meat for his low-brow viewers to nosh on, while offering Mitt more opportunity to step in a pile of dung. Something Mitt has proved to be constantly good at.
It should be a Republican ideal that every business should be allowed to fail if it is run recklessly like so many of the banks have been. Yet because banks are the rich and powerful the Repubs don’t hold them to the same ‘free market’ standards they want for other companies.
Credit Unions are a better option for people who don’t want banks gambling with their money.
CEOs made about 10 times the pay of average workers when Bill’s parents were working. Now CEOs make 185 times the average workers pay. This is a huge difference in money and lifestyle. It is also a prescription for a sinking economy where only the rich will have disposable income.
How many limos can they buy to make up for the cars average Americans can’t afford. The rich have become extremely short-sighted and seem willing to destroy the economy and their own future incomes in order to keep low tax rates today. Just because people make a lot of money doesn’t mean they are wise, but it often means they are greedy.
You’d think after over 3 years in office, Hannity might have more recent events with which to hammer at Pres. Obama. I agree Janet Tuhey—I don’t know how his fans can stand to listen to the same shyte over and over. I suspect that they are simply too well programmed to think of changing the channel, and maybe they are just washing dishes during Hannity.
People of faith who want to use government facilities to promote their faith should not be at all surprised when government manages to change their message. Don’t these same folks complain that government can’t do anything right? Maybe they should just rely on religions to do their own religious messaging.
A not-so-well-known fact: the ancient Greeks did paint their statues in gaudy colors—I think the buildings were similarly painted. So colorful logos all over the place might make them more like ancient times ;-) . Still I’m saying a prayer of thanks that the USA doesn’t have such antiquities, or I’m sure they would already have been renamed and redecorated for corporate sponsorship.
I’m thinking that Fox is regularly engaging in wars themselves…a few examples…
Fox’s War on Gays,
War on Non-Christians,
War on Non-Whites,
War on Birth Control,
War on Reason,
War on Intellect,
War on Journalism,
War on Compassion,
War on Sanity
The Trayvon case grew from a local protest over police inaction, to a national one over a period of a few weeks. On the other hand here is Bill O’Reilly trying to make this a story all on his own. Fox creating the news, kinda sad. They are obviously driven by base emotions to try to find a white victim of racism so they can pretend that Trayvon’s death was nothing horrific or unusual.
Stupid or Evil? This vid is hard to watch its so pathetically slanted to merely attack Obama and promote war. Why do you need all these people Sean?
At some point normal America must realize that its been listening to a bunch of emotionally retarded children-in-adult-bodies at Fox and in the Repub party and turn away from the dangerous policies of self-destruction this group wants to bring home.
Did no one tell these people that the USA is ‘broke’ and can’t afford their fancy wars any more?
Sean is only 50? Yet he sounds like a 75 yo geezer! I have to admit Schulz called it right: Watching a Hannity interview is entertaining in an explosive, ugly way, but in no way informative. Also its disturbing that Sean likes to say ‘defecate’ a lot.
Repubs want to turn back the clock to 1955 (or better yet, 1925) in every possible way. ‘Racing backwards’ or ‘Backpedaling’ would be good slogans to rally their base. It is not surprising that anything suggesting the future would seem like an evil curse to them. I can’t resist one more slogan: ‘Elect Republicans: Make the Future the Past!’
But even if Jones made such a statement-can they prove that Repubs don’t want to poison children? I’m just asking the question. But seriously, how different would that accusation be (if it were real) from Palin’s accusing Obama and the Dems of creating death panels to do away with her mother and her baby?
Who is religious freedom granted to- the individual or the religious group itself? I don’t know many Catholics—even the hardcore kind who have never used birth control. It is hard to imagine many Catholics will take to the streets about something that they know makes them hypocrites.
Fox and the bishops have turned the idea of religious freedom on its head by trying to impose religious views through their business ventures. Businesses which will not offer a full range of accepted medical services need to close or be sold off. The Bishops can then use the money to save the poor they helped create by limiting birth control and supporting politicians who target the poor in favor of the rich.
The Bishops had letters against the Obama admin birth control issue read in every church in the country. When they do the same over Republican policies, I’ll take them seriously.
Its true that right wingers find personal insults to be the highest form of humor. But a joke is not meant to be entirely truthful, Bill’s insults are.
This is a great example of Right-Wing Brain Error Syndrome. I think that Doocy heard Obama’s quote as stated but because his brain is on hate 24/7, his brain interpreted the statement in a more snarky, hate-filled way that Doocy could more readily relate to. This is the problem for many right-wing people, their paranoid, fear-based brains hear an attack where there is none. It speaks volumes about THEM and is a clear reason why all their statements should be taken with a large and frequent dose of salt. Evil or Stupid? I think it is some of each.
