I don’t really have any sympathy at all for Gretchen Carson. While all of these alleged attacks were occurring, she found it acceptable to spread the Fox mantra to their learning-challenged base. Well, I fired the original AR-15, which was way back then known as the M-16.
I didn’t find it exceptionally thrilling then, but I do know that it was then (and probably is now) a gun suitable for nothing more than killing other human beings.
I fired that miserable gun because I was ordered to fire it, and one of the biggest regrets in my life is that I was neither wise enough nor brave enough to refuse to fire that god-damned gun.
But now we have women saying that it is THEIR RIGHT to fire that gun. It seems to me that that’s an easy statement to make when you’re sitting comfortably in an air-conditioned TV studio. I’d rather that we all had the right NOT to fire that gun.
I’m always amazed at the number of assholes that think killing someone is fun.

I’m not at all surprised. I’ve never been an admirer of Colbert’s style or wit. His show has been floundering, and Colbert NEEDS the ratings boost that he sees whenever O’Reilly and he share the spotlight. It’s no coincidence that the new executive producer for Colbert’s show, Chris Licht, is the former co-creator and executive producer of MSNBC’s “Morning Joe”.
