A bit off-topic, but I really wish Obama would, on January 2, 2015 (the day before the GOPers formally take over both houses of Congress*), have a TV address in which he announces that he will now become exactly what the GOP has fear-mongered about for the past 6 years, and he will order the arrest of every GOP member of the incoming Congress, every prominent GOPer in the country and the three most radical members of the Supreme Court (Scalia, Alito and Thomas) and send them all to Guantanamo Bay. Obama should then announce a “state of emergency” is in effect and the Republican Party is officially dissolved and that FoxNoise will be shut down due to its being the GOP’s propaganda arm and that Rupert Murdoch will be deported and all his US assets seized. And, just for good measure, he’ll announce that the 2nd Amendment is nullified and that Wayne LaPierre will join the rest in Gitmo.
Then, after about an hour of causing every right-winger in the country to, um, soil their clothes and maybe lead to a few suicides after revealing his plans to tax the Koch Brothers and Sheldon Adelson and the rest of the right-wing billionaires at a 99.99% rate (and seizing all their assets to cover their years of underpaid taxes) and to redistribute all the fortunes of every past GOP contributor to the poor (with Blacks and Hispanics getting the bulk of the moneys), Obama ends the address with “Just kidding, folks. Republicans have spent the past 6 years demonizing me and the mindless voters who keep electing them keep falling for their manipulations, so I thought I’d give them all a little taste of their worst fears realized so they could see just how UNLIKE that picture of me I really am.” Then, just before he signs off for the night, he adds this little warning: “On the other hand, if the new Republican Congress pisses me off, maybe I’ll follow through and become exactly what they’ve been warning everyone about. And how, exactly, will they stop me? Especially if I’m that horrible dictator they claim I already am. They’ll never know what hit them.” (Then, maybe for a little extra theatricality, he could end with a slightly maniacal laugh—similar to Vincent Price’s laugh at the end of “Thriller.”)
*Actually, since January 3, 2015 falls on a Saturday, I don’t know if the Congress will meet that day or if they’ll wait until the 5th which is a Monday. And I can’t find anything to clarify which date is correct.

“Krauthammer slammed Obama for his executive order that, in Krauthammer’s opinion could have and should have been done when Obama had a Democratic House of Representatives and Senate.”
Does he remember the last time that Obama had that “Democratic House and Senate?” That was an era in which Senate leader Reid had NOT changed the filibuster rules that would require a minority holdout to block ANY legislation by the simple threat of a filibuster. See, Krauthammer obviously forgets that, since Obama was elected, the Dems NEVER had a filibuster-proof majority (ie, 60 votes) so a single, lone GOPer could threaten to shut down even the mere talk of immigration reform by merely saying, “This legislation will never make it to the floor because I’ll filibuster it” and that simple threat would stop the legislation in its tracks.
Hell, even when it came to confirming NON-controversial nominees, GOPers would routinely threaten to filibuster the nomination (usually for little more than the publicity it got them) and still wind up voting to confirm the nominee they’d threatened to filibuster in the first place. McConnell made it clear—on Day One of Obama’s Presidency—that the GOP would do anything AND everything they could to obstruct Obama’s agenda.
I also recall the fact that the Dems almost never (especially in the House) vote in the same lock-step manner that is all too common for the GOP so that even when Obama “had” Dem majorities in both Houses of Congress, he still had to overcome the obstacle that “his” party members in Congress would still vote the way they wanted to, instead of the way he wanted. Even with the Affordable Care Act, all three of Alabama’s Democratic members of Congress voted against it; that includes Parker Griffith who switched from being a Democrat to being a GOPer—and who was roundly defeated in his first race as a GOPer.
Then again, I have a bit of a long-term memory, and have no real problem with rechecking facts when I might be a bit hazy. Unlike certain right-wing hacks I could mention.

I’d suggest that “Dr” Carson stick to what he knows best—pediatric neurosurgery. “Dr” Carson proves (time and again) that being smart in one field does not translate into being smart in another.
What’s funniest about Carson is a quote from the “National Review” when he claimed not to be a member of any political party: “If I were part of one, it would be called the Logic party, and it would be dedicated to commonsense approaches we all should be able to see." And yet, he now purports to be a Republican. If there’s one thing you cannot say about the CURRENT Republican Party is that its Congressional members display either logic or “commonsense approaches” to anything.

You think these knuckleheads’ heads would explode if they learned that George W Bush himself hosted a bunch of Talibaners while Governor of Texas. It was all part of his attempts to help out his buddies’ efforts to build an oil and gas pipeline through Afghanistan.
And many of the ISIS leaders got funding from radicals in Saudi Arabia—you might remember how Dubya was once photographed holding hands (but in a “manly way”—not like a “dating way” ) with a Saudi prince.
Or how another Saudi prince co-owns FoxNoise. Especially ironic considering the FoxNoise propensity for tarring ALL Muslims with the same “terrorist” brush. I mean, someone could think that FoxNoise supports terrorrists. (Well, of course they do. But their preference is the “Christian” variety of terrorists.)

I rarely believe much of what Simcha Jacobovici spouts because the man has a definite agenda in his “research.” Unfortunately, that agenda causes problems with O’Reilly’s little hissyfit.
See, everything I’ve ever seen of Jacobovici places him squarely in an “Everything in the Bible Is Absolutely True and I’ll Gladly Ignore Anything That Says Otherwise” camp. I’ve seen enough of his “The Naked Archeologist” (and, thankfully, he was never literal with that title—there are hosts of TV shows called “The Naked _____” who I wish were far more literal but not Jacobovici; but I digress….) to know he’ll take the most torturous route to prove the Bible is 100% literally accurate.
Now, here’s where the problem lies. Jacobovici does NOT disbelieve anything in the Bible and, as an archeologist, he also has a strong knowledge of how real people lived. He understands the cultural aspects of the Biblical societies and, more importantly, how JEWISH society was in the eras covered in the Bible. And one of the most important aspects for ANY Jewish man was to be married. An unmarried man in that society was suspect—and a dozen or so “single” men* travelling together would certainly have raised more suspicions among the average people. (This, of course, doesn’t actually contradict the Bible as far as Jesus’s ministry is concerned. Women were largely ignored in the Bible but Jesus’s ministry HAD to have attracted numerous women—and there’s actually nothing that definitively states that the apostles were all single men; again, women weren’t important to the various authors of the Books of the Bible. If it hadn’t been for the sheer importance of Mary as Jesus’s mother to the early Christian community, she could’ve been just as relegated to anonymity as “Lot’s Wife” and “Potiphar’s Wife.”) Now, Simcha obviously is working from that cultural aspect and—as I’ve mentioned, he seems to prefer “evidence” that proves his view while ignoring anything that might contradict it.
So, what does this mean for BillO? It means that Simcha believes he’s as 100% correct as BillO does, contrary evidence be damned.
*This use of “single” doesn’t necessarily mean “unmarried” but rather “unattached” or even “stag.”

It’s just too bad Seannie-poo didn’t join the military. He could’ve seen a lot of gruesome corpses if he had. Hell, when the Marine compound in Beirut was bombed, he was only in his early 20s.
Maybe he could’ve become a mercenary and seen more than his fair share of gruesome corpses (and even created them in the process). The early 80s had ample wars for soldiers of fortune to sell to services.
But, then again, no. That would’ve required Hannity get dirty and live in some pretty dismal conditions, and we all know Seannie-poo can’t be involved in anything where he might risk his own ass.

From the article: Doocy claimed that this will cause problems for parents “who look at that calendar and they’re wondering ‘when is Easter this year cuz we’re going on vacation…”
So, these “good, concerned Christian” parents are more concerned about their vacations rather than how they’ll celebrate EASTER? And wouldn’t real Christians know (maybe by checking with their pastors, ministers, priests or what-have-you) when Easter will be? Then again, as I implied, real Christians wouldn’t plan something as mundane as a “vacation” on what is (at least, to real Christians—including FoxNoise’s favorite denomination, the Roman Catholic Church) the most sacred of holidays. FoxNoise may like to fight against the “War on Christmas” but Easter is the day that Christianity truly began (without Christ’s Resurrection, there wouldn’t be much of a religion;it’d just be another sect of Judaism).

Chuck, when we have proof of how hateful and spiteful *you*’ve been BEFORE revealing your “rare neurological disease” in the same manner that Beck has been for these past couple of decades, then we’ll talk “classy.”
Beck has had ZERO problem with badmouthing others and he has NEVER attacked his fellow conservative commentaters on their personal attacks on people with diseases or debillitating conditions—largely because those people dared to be “not conservative.”
Sorry about your personal woes, but I’ll guarantee you that if you were a well-known liberal or progressive personality, Beck wouldn’t hesitate in attacking your post-seizure life. As I noted in my earlier comment, right-wingers don’t have a problem attacking people with medical problems, so why the hell should I be expected to be better than they are? To right-wingers, sympathy or empathy is a weakness to be exploited.

And, Dennis, yeah. Hillary “carpetbagged” but Hillary also fought a tough battle to win that Senate seat. She didn’t just sit back and expect the voters to flock to her solely based on her name (which is all Palin has going for her). Clinton first had to deal with Rudy Giuliani who was primed to be the GOP nominee until he withdrew (for various and sundry reasons—ranging from his prostate cancer to his “other woman” to the perception that he was more an “executive” type unsuited to working with others). Right up until the end of the Giuliani campaign, he and Clinton were virtually tied in the polls. Once the conservative wing of the state’s GOP nominated Rick Lazio as Giuliani’s replacement, Hillary’s once commanding lead over Lazio collapsed (in May, just before Lazio’s appointment as the GOP candidate, Hillary led over Lazio by 19 percentage points; a month later, they were TIED; it wouldn’t be until September that Hillary gained a 5-point lead over Lazio). When all was said and done, Hillary’s margin of victory was only 12 percentage points (especially considering that Gore took the State by 25 points).
Now, if you think that Palin would EVER allow herself to run for a political office where she might be defeated, you’re seriously deluded. She’d carpetbag to a very safe state (presumably in the Deep South) but only where an incumbent was retiring. She may fancy herself as a Teabagger Queen Bee but she’d never challenge a fellow GOPer directly (she prefers endorsing their opponents where she can take credit for their wins while she can blame her preferred candidate for losing the election since he obviously just couldn’t connect with the voters or overcome the “lamestream media” biased coverage of his campaign).

Aria, I have to disagree with you on the notion of “unprofessional.” I only say that because for something to be “unprofessional,” you have to have people who are professional in the first place. There’s not a single person working in front of the camera who could LEGITIMATELY be called “professional.” They are—to the last talking head—the epitome of amateurism. They only play at “journalism.”
Ted Baxter (a purely fictitious character) was far more professional in his journalism than any talking head at FoxNoise. (Hell, the Talking Heads are more professional in terms of journalism than the FoxNoise dolts—and, to the best of my recollection, not a member of the Talking Heads had a degree in journalism.)
