Sean Hannity’s special program on race was little more than a pretext to launch racial attacks on President and Mrs. Obama.
Predictably, the show was full of many of Hannity’s favorite African American black attackers, such as Deneen Borelli, Kevin Jackson and the ever-present Sheriff David Clarke.
In one telling moment, Hannity asked Innis whether President Obama’s statements on race have “hurt race relations?”
Innis gave Hannity all he could have wanted and more:
INNIS: You know, the president talks about history. Let’s talk a little bit about history. About a hundred years ago, there was another progressive Democrat president named Woodrow Wilson. And he aired at the White House one of the most racist, disgusting films in the history of our country, Birth of a Nation. And he came out and said this was history written with lightning. Barack Obama Is The Reincarnation Of Woodrow Wilson.
Hannity sounded absolutely delighted as he replied, “By the way, that pushed the Klan! You’re making a very tough charge here against the president."
Innis continued by alleging that white people are now the racial victims in the U.S.
INNIS: Instead of being the calming voice that brings people together, you divide people and you stoke the fire and you stoke the racism. The only difference is – it’s the same progressivism, the same Democratic progressivism, and divide and conquer the people. The only difference is, the victimizer and victim have switched sides in terms of color.
Believe it or not, Innis' official bio as the Executive Director of TheTeaParty.net describes him as a civil rights activist. But while attacking Obama’s measured words about race as divisive, Innis never seems to mind Hannity’s far more inflammatory and hate-filled race baiting.
Watch it below, from the May 15 Hannity, via Media Matters.
Also, I love this "logic: “Woodrow Wilson was a progressive Democrat. He aired a racist film at the White House. Barack Obama is a progressive Democrat. He talked about race relation issues in America. Therefore, Obama is the reincarnation of Wilson.” Because we all know that showing “Birth of a Nation” 100 years ago and talking about race relations today are exactly the same thing!
I’ll just repeat what I said over at Media Matters on this subject:
Only on Fox does a white southerner who pursued a policy of neutrality during WWI (Wilson) come back as a biracial Hawaiian who’s taken the use of drone warfare as an anti-terrorism tool to unprecedented levels (Obama) . . .
.
Here’s a secret. The masses are unaware that some of these shows are staged, or set up to create shock value. Outrageous “comments” goes viral which boost the ratings of the mouthpiece’s show. Those same videos are posted on Facebook and other social media platforms. Staged shows give mouthpiece’s free publicity for their shows. It also keeps the Foxies number 1 in the ratings. A certain Irish mouthpiece is known for staging shows, and he knows who he is.
NOTE TO HANNITY
Gavin is a good actor.
Innis is nothing more than what used to be called an “Oreo” (Black on the outside and white on the inside) or what would now be termed a “self-loathing” Black man. I’d love to know how many Tea Party social functions he gets invited to. I’d be willing to bet he only gets invited to the “official” Party fundraisers but never to the more casual get-together pot-lucks. (Of course, given the feelings of hate I’ve seen at most teabagger protests, I’m not really sure any of them ever just have “casual get-together pot-lucks.”)
