If you thought it was sickly comical how Fox News talking heads made the MH17 crash all about Obama’s reaction (and Benghazi) last night, check out how they’ve started blaming him for the Malaysian Airlines tragedy over Ukraine today.
On Fox & Friends this morning, host Brian Kilmeade had a chat with the virulently Obama-hating, Lt. Col. Ralph Peters for a discussion FoxNews.Com called, “Have Obama’s policies emboldened bad actors on world stage?”
Kilmeade opened the discussion by “asking,” “Has United States’ weakened foreign policy emboldened sinister forces around the world like the ones that blasted the flight MH Malaysian jetliner 17 out of the sky, killing all 298 people on board?”
The choice of Peters as a guest didn't just ensure the anti-Obama answer, it also allowed Fox to pretend that Peters, a Fox News military analyst, was some kind of neutral analyst.
“Is there anything we didn’t do that allowed something like this to happen?” Kilmeade asked, as if he didn’t know how Peters would respond.
And... Bingo.
PETERS: Of course. Our president didn’t do anything, nothing meaningful. Now, I’m glad he put more sanctions on Putin this week but they’re too little, too late. And our president’s tendency to see everything through politics… has driven our foreign policy utterly into the ground and under the ground. Yesterday, his shameful lack of attention to the downing of the Malaysian airliner is basically because he knows by confronting Putin strongly, he gets no points with his base. It doesn’t bring him – him! – an advantage. He’s not worried about the United States but what’s in it for him. And so we see Putin behaving utterly lawlessly, Brian, and nothing happens. Why on earth shouldn’t Putin behave that way?
Later, Kilmeade, himself, chimed in to cast blame on Obama: “And if we gave the Ukrainian government arms instead of lunch, it might have helped. And that might have been the bold message that would have prompted Vladimir Putin to step back and said, ‘I can’t take the risk.’”
Watch below to see how Fox is trying to make you think the real culprit in this awful tragedy is President Obama.
H/T reader Andy.
How could they? He’s an “incompetent man-child”, remember?
