Fox News Blames Mississippi Police Shooting On Eric Holder

Eric Holder may have stepped down as Attorney General, but Fox News hates him as much as ever.  According to Fox, Holder’s evil power is so strong that he all but pulled the trigger on two slain Mississippi police officers. Or so Fox would have you believe.

Host Bill Hemmer started the finger pointing with a clip of former New York City police commissioner Howard Safir blaming Holder.

SAFIR: Eric Holder, the previous attorney general, had a war on police. He spent more time investigating police departments than he did investigating criminals.

Hemmer reiterated, “A war on police, Holder is the problem, spent more time investigating the police than he did the criminals.”

Rather than fact check Safir’s allegations, Hemmer asked guest Rod Wheeler, a former homicide detective and current Fox News contributor, “Did you see it that way?”

Surprise! Wheeler did. “Look at it from this perspective, Bill,” Wheeler said, “The Justice Department sent three representatives to the funeral of Freddie Gray – and that was the young man that had the altercation with the Baltimore police that led to the riots. The Justice Department sent three representatives to his funeral. Guess how many representatives they sent to the funeral of Officer Moore, the young police officer that was gunned down in New York City last week? Zero. None. No one from the Justice Department showed up. What kind of message, Bill, does that send to the American policing and to the American citizens? It sends a strong message.”

“I think you’re right about that,” Hemmer agreed. It didn't seem to occur to him that there were federal issues involved in the Baltimore case but not in the New York case.

However, Hemmer did find time to display a Facebook post from some African American woman celebrating the death of two police officers in Hattiesburg. “You can go online and find a lot more than the one we quoted, too, by the way,” Hemmer later said.

Sickening, yes. But Hemmer ought to think about cleaning up the death wishes right there on Fox Nation, before pointing fingers at any other online comments.

Before closing, Wheeler took time to adjudge the African American community, as a whole, guilty. There was not a moment spent in this “fair and balanced” segment thinking about how they might feel there’s a war on them by the police. Instead, there was only finger pointing.

WHEELER: Why is it, Bill, that our federal government and some of these local officials, why is it that they want to reform the police department instead of trying to get the community to comply with the laws that’s already on the books.

…As a result of all of this, we see criminals becoming more and more violent and hostile towards police officers on the street. The question is, how much does the community want us to do our jobs?

Clearly Hemmer, Wheeler and Fox News do not care about the African American perspective in the tensions – except to demonize them.

Oh, and one other thing Hemmer and Wheeler conveniently overlooked? How Fox News may have played a role in the deaths of two Las Vegas police after promoting rancher Cliven Bundy's actual war on law enforcers.

Ex-Commissioner Safir refuses to discuss these gems. A couple are under his watch.

Let us take the masses down memory lane of the NYPD corruption. Safir can’t blame Holder on these gems.

Not everyone likes Safir.

This was under Safir’s watch.

Safir in his own words: “breakdown in supervision” allowed the rampant corruption.

NOTE TO THE COMMISH

Tsk, tsk. It’s not nice to throw stones in glass houses.

truman, you are so funny. (You do stand-up comedy on the side, right?)

Expecting FoxNoise to be consistent on anything………

They don’t need to be consistent since their audience can’t remember anything that happened before today. Goldfish have better memories.

Safir brays that it’s Holder’s fault. In an earlier post, Clarke spews that it’s Obama’s fault. Fux needs to be consistent on their race-baiting.

If the Mississippi shooting is Eric Holder's fault, then Fox News is to blame for execution of two Las Vegas cops by a Bundy supporter.
