Fox News Outrageous Quote Of The Week Poll – Duck Dynasty/Phil Robertson Edition
This past week of Fox News outrageousness has been dominated by Phil Robertson and Duck Dynasty. There were some outrageous comments on other subjects but I’m going to stick with one theme this time.
Read moreOn Fox & Friends: The S**t That Todd Starnes Says Is Taken Seriously?!
For the Christian right, who see their world rapidly changing, the "culture" war has taken on an almost apocalyptic fervor. For Fox News, the constant outcry of these aggrieved Christian is given pride of place in the writings and TV commentary of Todd Starnes, a devout southern fried evangelical Christian who has become Fox's main mouthpiece for homophobia and general fear and loathing of blacks, Muslims, and "militant" gays. Todd "Toddles" Starnes is on a mission from God to smite the forces of the godless who have taken over American culture especially in the military. In the quest to further the cause of the aggrieved Christian, so beloved by Fox News, there is no unsubstantiated anecdote or lie that Starnes can ignore. So where better for Toddles to pontificate about 2013's top culture war stories about aggrieved Christians than on Fox & Friends, Fox's special morning show for aggrieved Christians!
Read moreFox News Wastes No Time Attacking NY Times Benghazi Report
Not surprisingly, Fox News has gotten to work to do its best to attack the detailed and credible report published yesterday by the New York Times that destroyed much of the Republican/Fox News conspiracy theory about Benghazi. Today, on Fox News Sunday, host Chris Wallace helped the effort along.
Read moreOn Fox & Friends: Former Vatican Ambassador Still Whining About Embassy Move
In November, the perpetually aggrieved Christian right, in yet another failed attempt to smear the president, had a collective hissy fit about how the US Embassy to the Vatican was being moved into the larger compound which houses the US Embassy to Italy. The move was done for financial and security reasons. No problem for the Vatican but for the perpetually aggrieved Christian right it was a big f**king deal. Thus, it was no surprise that Fox New would jump onboard the grievance bandwagon by interviewing one of the aggrieved Catholics who is a former Vatican ambassador. This morning, former Bush 43 Secretary of Veterans Affairs and - drum roll please - former GOP Chairman Jim Nicholson was back for more whining.

On yesterday’s Your World, Eric Bolling debated Democratic strategist Steve Murphy about Senator Richard Blumenthal (D-CT) wanting UPS and FedEx to refund all customers for delayed packages. Bolling wondered why Blumenthal got involved. “Why in the world do we want more government intrusion into the free market? It seems to be working just fine.”

If you want to read some real reporting and you have any interest in what really happened in the September 11, 2012 attacks on the U.S. mission and C.I.A. compound in Benghazi, Libya, then you MUST read today's New York Times article published, it says, after months of on-the-ground investigation. The article does not exactly absolve the State Department but it pretty much demolishes the GOP/Fox News narrative.
Read moreFr. Jonathan Morris Compares Phil Robertson To The Pope?
Along with Christians, Muslims, and Jews have their respective defense leagues, Phil Robertson now has his very own defense league in the form of Fox News which has been squarely on the side of Robertson because of Robertson's exemplary Christianity which, of course, is based on the "God hates fags" theology. Fox's famous double standard couldn't be more apparent. When Bill Maher offends Christians, Fox News, as the defender of the Christian faith, is all over him. But when the LGBT community criticized Robertson for his hate filled, "Christian comments," the Fox talk is about how gays are the really intolerant ones. In its attempt to canonize Robertson, Fox's Martha MacCallum actually compared him to the Pope. And last Sunday, Fox's one true priest Fr. Jonathan Morris ignored Robertson's bigotry and praised his Christian theology of sin which, according to Morris, is just like the Pope's!

The entire panel of Forbes on Fox came out in favor of privatizing the U.S. Postal Service recently. The only dissent was that we’re not “ready quite yet.” Nobody pointed out – or seemed to care - that the Postal Service is extremely popular among Americans.
