Here’s an odd bit of political theater for you to mull over. Bill O’Reilly chose John Boehner as his “Pinhead of the Week” last night. O'Reilly said, “I believe that John Boehner is secretly a Democrat. I think is he a quisling. Because he never says what you need to say.”
What O’Reilly meant, of course, was that Boehner is such an ineffective leader of his party that he might as well be a Democrat. But still…
What got O'Relly ticked off was Boehner’s failure to move immigration reform forward. We saw a clip of Boehner saying, “There is widespread doubt about whether this administration can be trusted to enforce our laws and it’s going to be difficult to move any immigration legislation until that changes.”
What Boehner should do, O’Reilly said, is put forth an immigration reform plan. But, instead, “It’s always the party of no.”
He continued:
(P)eople hearing this, who aren’t Republicans and you know, who aren’t conservative, they are going to go, ‘They don’t want to do anything! They don’t want to do anything! They don’t want to do anything!’ So you are just handing a big gift to the Democratic party.
Get out there and say, ‘This is what’s fair. This is what we’d would like to do. We understand there are 12 million human beings that we have to deal with here in this country one way or the other, alright? And here is how we would like to handle it .’ But no.…He’s not doing it because he’s pandering to the radio talk shows.
Wow. Just wow.

Well goodness, BillO — for a registered “independent” like yourself, my questions to you are . . . what if he is, and why do you care?
.
Not that O’Reilly would understand that. Even that’s too complex an understanding of human nature and politics for him.
Yeah, that’s my take on his comment too. BOR (who likes to give the GOP advice to help them come out on top) has a real concern that the GOP optics on this matter won’t come across good enough to enable them to win elections in 2014/2016. Yep, BOR realizes that Boehner’s statement about the immigration law only serves to reinforce Obama’s/the Dems complaints that the GOP is the “party of no” and that Boehner’s remark will also further alienate Hispanics (a voting block that the GOP desperately needs). Poor BOR – he seems really worried about the GOP. LOL!
Inside that tall, aging, blotchy skin of his is a fragile, insecure man. If Billy left this network today, none of his colleagues would miss him, including the Second Floor.
We are awaiting the response from Boehner.
“Junior O’Reilly’s enemies list continues to grow by leaps and bounds. Will Pope Francis be next?”
Here’s my answer Jan: IS THE POPE CATHOLIC?
;^)
’Nuff said.
Do you know what YOUR son did today? Oh sure, give him to us when he’s being good.
