Megyn Kelly Hauls Erickson and Dobbs Over the Coals for Sexist Remarks
The women of Fox News are not about to let Erick Erickson off lightly for his recent comments, on Lou Dobbs’ show, about male superiority being a scientific fact. Last night, on her blog, Greta Van Susteren asked if they’d lost their minds. Then today, Megyn Kelly brought both Erickson and Dobbs onto her show and went at them with both barrels, while they alternately tried to explain what they’d really meant, and smirked in a way that made me want to throw my computer out the window.

As you know from News Hounds, blogs, and non-Fox media (Mika Brzezinski ripped them a new one), a recent Lou Dobbs segment, on Fox Business, exposed the totally medieval and patriarchal views of both Dobbs and his fellow Fox contributors particularly Erick Erickson. Yep, just after Laura Ingraham, said, on Fox News, that if the Republicans hope to restore any credibility, they have to stop saying stupid comments about women, along comes the Dobbs sausage fest during which the testosterone infused Fox guys said a bunch of stupid things about women. Yep, they lamented the fact that working moms represent 40% of American households because - wait for it - it shows the demise of society as we know it. Thus, it was good to know that Fox's Greta Van Susteren was having none of this and reprimanded her fellow Fox hosts for their stupid comments which, sorry guys, won't help your party anytime soon!
Read moreFox Too Busy Talking About Obama Scandals To Discuss Ricin Threats
Fox News prime time last night was pretty much all Obama-scandal/Eric Holder witch hunt all the time, with a brief break for such subjects as a woman in a Mexican prison and Senator Rand Paul's family photo with Ronald Reagan. In three hours of programming, I didn’t hear one mention of the fact that a threat had been made on our president’s life or that a domestic terrorist may be targeting gun-control advocates.

For the slimiest views on women, the crown has to go to Fox News contributor Erick Erickson. On an already classy Lou Dobbs segment discussing how the growth of female breadwinners spells the dissolution of society, Erickson had the nerve to say that male dominance is scientific fact and that liberals who don’t acknowledge this are “anti-science.”

Dr. Manny Alvarez is listed as Fox News’ “Senior Managing Editor For Health News” which, presumably, puts him in Fox’s much ballyhooed “objective news” camp instead of its “opinion” sections. Yet apparently Fox not only doesn’t mind his open (anti-Obamacare) political advocacy, they showcased it on Your World on Tuesday (5/28/13).
Read moreJim DeMint Stokes Vague Fears About IRS’ Involvement in Health Care Reform
In their ongoing fight to whip up righteous indignation over the skullduggery at Obama’s IRS, Republicans have found another talking point to frighten Americans with: under the Affordable Care Act (aka Obamacare), the IRS, that the vicious corrupt intimidator of political groups masquerading as charities red-blooded freedom-loving conservatives everywhere, is going to stick its nose into your health insurance coverage. Last night, former Senator Jim DeMint (now President of the Heritage Foundation think tank) went On the Record to scare us with vague predictions of what the Taxman could do once he was turned loose on health care.

Bill O’Reilly, King of the World, threatened to add Mexico to his list of boycotted countries – again last night. You may recall that Mexico narrowly escaped a 2012 boycott when they submitted to O’Reilly’s mighty microphone and released an American prisoner he previously used to threaten the country. Now, with another American in a Mexican prison under even more dubious circumstances, “I don’t do boycotts” O’Reilly issued his threat. Release her this week or else I collapse the economy! UPDATED
Read moreMegyn Kelly Whitewashes Her History Of Helping To Demonize Trayvon Martin
As I posted last week, Megyn Kelly worked as an on-air helpmate to George Zimmerman’s attorney in his smear campaign against Trayvon Martin. Kelly, also an attorney, almost surely knew that texts and photos of Martin’s pot use, his gangsta language and school records would not be admissible at trial. But she nonetheless played dumb as she uncritically aired and “explored” the very material the defense undoubtedly hoped she would. The same material she almost certainly knew was irrelevant to the question of whether Zimmerman shot and killed the unarmed Martin in self defense and would almost certainly not be seared into her viewers’ minds without her help. That was bad enough, but when the judge predictably barred the evidence (for now) this week, Kelly pretended it was a setback for the defense and, even worse, pretended she had challenged it in the first place. Read moreBill O'Reilly Uses 'IRS Scandal' To Decry 'Hate Speech' - Say What????
Paging Dr. Ablow, paging Dr. Ablow. In what seems to be a leap from garden variety cognitive dissonance, Bill O'Reilly now seems to have a serious dissociative personality disorder. O'Reilly, whose ratings seem to be directly proportional to the intensity of his personal attacks, couched in what could be considered "hate speech," is now urging "the folks" to "reject and shun those who spew hate." WTF??????????
Read moreTamara Holder Confronts Hannity On Hypocrisy Of Attacks On Adam Levine For Saying He Hates America
In case you missed it, Adam Levine, from Maroon 5 and The Voice, muttered “I hate this country” into a hot mike last night. It was in response to voting on The Voice that eliminated two of his team members. Levine has since defended his remark as a joke, issued a statement explaining his frustration with the voting and saying, “I obviously love my country very much.” But the very news network that has shown no interest in the fact that one of their hosts urged people to “do me a favor” and go punch an Obama supporter in the face thought Levine’s comments were worth at least two discussions last night. One on On The Record and a debate on Hannity.
