Fox Nation Scrapes Bottom of Barrel Looking for Obama 'Apologies'
Fox Nation and its cyber-soulmates are working overtime trying to rebut the falsehoods that more trustworthy sources found in Romney's acceptance speech. For example, this statement: "President Obama began [his administration] with an apology tour. America, he said, had dictated to other nations. No Mr. President, America has freed other nations from dictators.” PolitiFact gave that one a "pants on fire". But Fox Nation, reposting an article from the Washington Free Beacon, says that what "notoriously liberal" sites like PolitiFact say doesn't signify; Obama has been caught on tape FIVE TIMES, apologizing for America.

Fox & Friends is the go to place for the grand old flag and anybody who wants it flown, regardless of local municipal (or school) policy. This morning, Fox friends Alisyn Camerota and Clayton Morris provided a full platform for the self described Amherst (MA) town conservative, Larry Kelley, to articulate his discontent with the Amherst policy of flying the American flag, on town utility poles, on every fifth anniversary of 9/11. In addition to informing the viewers about this evil, un-American practice, the segment, through its instructional chyrons, reminded us about the significance of one of the two most important Fox & Friends cult objects (the other being the Bible) and why it needs "freedom." Once again, Fox & Friends is taking a local issue and making it national so that its patriotic audience can open up a can of patriotic whoop-ass on Amherst. "It's a grand, old flag, it's a high flying flag..."
Read moreFox News' Tale Of Two Convention Previews
What a difference a week – and a political party make! Last week, you may recall, Fox News Sunday's preview for the Republican convention was a mostly softball interview with Mitt Romney followed by a slobbering infomercial about the Romney family that could have been produced by the campaign, itself. This week, “fair and balanced” Fox previewed the Democratic convention – and the differences were pretty stark. There was a rather critical interview with the Obama campaign's David Axelrod followed by another wade-into-the-policy-weeds critical interview with the convention's chairman, Antonio Villaraigosa.
Read moreIt's Not Your Imagination: Fox News Women Wear More Make Up
If you have been thinking that women on Fox News look a bit more garish than on other news networks, you're right. In fact, it's a deliberate network tactic.
Read moreFox Nation's Dog Whistle About Obama's African Half Brother
To paraphrase a post left on the Newshounds.us Facebook page by former News Hound Headly Westerfield (aka Aunty Em), there is only ONE reason why those "civil," "tolerant" folks at Fox Nation would put up a post called: RUSH: I Was Hoping RNC 'Mystery Speaker' Would Be Obama's Brother Who Lives In A Hut: to use Limbaugh's comments to play the race card - and pretend they were just "telling the facts" of what Limbaugh said. I couldn't agree with Headly more.
Read moreKarl Rove “Jokes” About Murdering Todd Akin
I didn’t think it was possible but Karl Rove has put me on the side of “legitimate rape” Todd Akin. Fox News contributor (and GOP power player) Rove crossed the line when, according to Bloomberg Businessweek, he made the comment “If he [Akin]’s found mysteriously murdered, don’t look for my whereabouts.” Akin responded and he wasn’t laughing.
Read moreHow Right-Wing Media (read, Fox News) Helped Develop Romney's Falsehood-Laden Messages
In case you haven't gotten your fill of Republican Convention, gentle reader, here's some long-weekend reading, via Media Matters for America. The article's entitled "They Built it: the Right-Wing Media Crafted the Falsehoods in Romney's Speech". But the main culprit it identifies is, of course, Fox News. Meanwhile, Fox is busy rebutting some of the false claims and ignoring others - more on that later.
Fox News Loves Clint Eastwood!
AP reported yesterday that Twitter was “instantly ablaze” with comments mocking Clint Eastwood’s bizarre presentation to the Republican convention that included an imaginary conversation with “President Obama” in an empty chair. The wire service said that a Twitter account called @InvisibleObama had 30,000 followers half a day later. But on Fox News, the pundits fell all over themselves praising Eastwood and, of course, attacking the left for good measure while they were at it. My vote for comment of the day goes to Laura Ingraham who called Eastwood “Don Rickles in American politics.”
Read moreAnn Coulter Tweet: Kill The (Bleeping) Liberal Hecklers!
For someone who holds herself up as "pro life," Fox fave Ann Coulter has an awful lot of homicidal fantasies. Her latest appears to be a tweet she sent forth during last night's Republican convention in which she said, with typical class: KILL THE "($;&(:#* LIBERAL HECKLERS!
