No Tough Questions For Rand Paul Over His Immigration Plan
Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) appeared on Your World yesterday to promote his 2016 presidential run discuss his immigration plan. He said “Yes, I am for immigration reform, but my amendment to the bill will be something called “trust but verify,” which says that we have to secure the border, and that we have to have a report that’s voted on by Congress each year in order for immigration reform to go forward.”
Read moreO’Reilly Attacks Bachmann
On The O’Reilly Factor last night, Bill O’Reilly devoted an entire segment to attacking Michele Bachmann. Fox and O’Reilly defenders will surely point to that as proof of his independence. But it’s really more an example of the GOP civil war that has been playing out on the Fox News airwaves lately. Because the gist of O’Reilly’s contention was that Bachmann’s crazy accusations against Obama work undermine the more substantive vilification O’Reilly prefers.
Read moreSteve Doocy Plays Fear Of Saudi Arabia Card With Anti-Obama, Tea Party Activist
Now that the so called "Ground Zero Mosque" is no longer an issue, Roger Ailes, who has a "personal paranoia" about Muslims, hasn't had much material with which to play the fear of Muslims card. But yesterday, a terrorist watch group run by the Islamophobic and seemingly paranoid Steven Emerson reported its "concerns" about Saudi Arabia's inclusion in the Department of Homeland Security's "Global Entry" program which streamlines airport screening for foreign nationals whose security status has been vetted by their home country and the US. Not surprisingly Fox News is on it. This morning, reinforcing yesterday's Fox News.com's article, Fox & Friends discussed this scary new development with, no, not anybody from DHS or a reputable security firm - but a virulently anti-Obama Tea Party activist whose support for the "Ground Zero Cross" was validated, in 2012, by Megyn Kelly who, like Doocy, didn't mention her guest's right wing creds. Good thing Fox & Friends isn't a real "news" show!
Read moreProsecutors Don't Buy Steven Crowder's 'Sucker Punched By A Union Member' Story
Poor Steven Crowder. First, he was attacked by the meanies on the left for making what he called a joke at CPAC about Ashley Judd's "obsession with rape." After all, she's only a three-time rape survivor, so why shouldn't a guy like Crowder be able to mock her concerns without people getting their nose out of joint? And now, less than a week later, a Michigan prosecutor has declined to prosecute the "thugs" who "sucker-punched" him. Why? Because after reviewing an unedited video - i.e. not the one Crowder showed off on Fox News - the prosecutor concluded he wasn't telling the truth. Get out your hankies, ladies and gentlemen, it's time to book Crowder a room in Jon Stewart's GOP Special Victims Unit!
Read moreGreta Van Susteren Gushes Over Roger Ailes Biography
I guess if you want to talk about your boss on TV you’d better say nice things – particularly if your boss is Roger Ailes. Therefore it’s probably no surprise that when Greta Van Susteren interviewed Zev Chafets, who wrote the “authorized” biography of Fox News’ chief, Roger Ailes: Off Camera, both of them brimmed over with praise.
Read moreGreg Gutfeld: I’ll Take This Victory In Iraq Over Humiliation In Benghazi Any Day!
On the 10th anniversary of the Iraq War yesterday, Fox News’ The Five called on Greg Gutfeld to offer the lead-in editorial for a discussion affirming debating how worthwhile the war was. Gutfeld may never have served a day in his life for his country but he obviously knows military success when he sees it – and the America haters who refuse to acknowledge it! So you could almost hear the opening strains of America The Beautiful as he announced, “I’ll take this victory in Iraq over humiliation in Benghazi any day!” (H/T Kirk W.)
Read moreMegyn Kelly: School Play That "Mocks" Christians Proves Muslims Get Preferential Treatment
There is a constant refrain, among the legions of aggrieved right wing Christians, that those in the arts community would never treat Muslims with the same sort of perceived disrespect given to Christians. Not surprisingly, this meme has been advanced on Fox News which is, of course, the home for aggrieved Christians while being the place "where you can bash Islam with impunity." The reality is that satire, in order to be successful, are based on the audience's frame of reference. A play that is themed on the Koran would not be as familiar as one based on the Bible which is a cultural reference point for many Americans. And now that a Massachusetts performing arts charter school has done a play with OMG gay bible characters and the usual suspects in the raving religious right are upset, alleged Fox news host Megyn Kelly is using the "controversy" to promote the Muslims get preferential treatment meme and continue to voice support for and lie about the maker
Read moreJesse Watters Notices "Lesbians Kissing Each Other" At St. Patrick's Day Parade
When it comes to the question of who is kinkier - Jesse Watters or his big pimping daddy, Bill O'Reilly - the answer might be that it's a toss-up. Watters does seems to enjoy scouting out, for O'Reilly's viewing pleasure, scantily clad, drunken women whose being "blasted," according to Bill, causes their pregnancies and, as such, is the reason why they shouldn't get birth control with no co-payment! While the NY City St. Patrick's Day Parade afforded lots of opportunity for Watters to feature drunken women, the weather was such that very little skin was available. But that Watters did get his blarney stones off was shown in his summary of the parade being "pure debauchery" with "people throwing up, lesbians kissing each other..." Interesting - Fox's Todd Starnes notices male thongs and chaps at gay pride parades and Jesse Watters notices kissing lesbians at St. Patrick's Day Parades. Okaaaaayyyy....

It turns out not all conservatives love Fox. Or at least feel it completely serves their needs. A new news network called One America plans to launch this summer and it's aiming to provide more conservative but also more substantive content.
Read moreBill O’Reilly Blames The ‘Takers’ For His Decision To Quit Radio ‘Talking Points’
Remember how last week Bill O’Reilly insisted, “I’m not in business to make money… I don’t care about that?” I hope that, like me, you never bought that. Because last night, O’Reilly announced that he had quit his radio gig because his tax bracket is too high or, as O’Reilly colorfully put it, “the giant colossus of ‘take, take, take’ from me, the entrepreneur,” made it “not worth my time any more.”
