Fox Nation Gay Baiting Headline Cites "Lesbian Rape"
According to our legal system, rape is rape regardless of the perpetrators sexual orientation. But in the homophobic world of Fox Nation, not all rapes are created equal. According to one of its headlines, when a gay person is accused of rape, it's not just rape - but a gay rape as evidenced by this morning's "Blonde Teacher Busted for Lesbian Rape." Given the hostility of the denizens of Fox Nation towards the LGBT community, one wonders if this special designation is meant to reinforce the right wing belief that gays are scary, sexual predators and *pedophiles who shouldn't be allowed near children. Go figure!

After having his speech, at a Grosse Pointe high school cancelled, Rick Santorum was subsequently allowed to give his address after the school was assured that the speech would be about leadership and not divisive social issues - not, as claimed by Bill O'Reilly, because "The Factor" complained. The school's right wing "Young Americans for Freedom," however, asserts that the initial decision was due to Santorum's social views - something that the school denies. But as this allegation dovetails nicely with the Fox News meme about "liberal bias" in the schools, it wasn't surprising to see Steve Doocy, during a "Trouble With Schools" segment, interview a YAF student about liberal persecution, which OMG included a requirement that students get permission to attend the speech. Aww...
Read moreHannity Guest: Obama’s Middle Name ‘A Clue’ To His ‘Weakness’ On Terrorism
In a night of all hate all the time on Fox, the Hannity show’s segment with Bill Cunningham stood out last night both for the bigoted level he and Sean Hannity happily sank to in order to smear President Obama and for the fact that Fox passed off as legitimate opinion the preposterous allegation that Obama's caution in using the term "Islamic terrorism" has endangered the country.
Read moreCavuto And Moore Use The FAA Furloughs To Make President Obama Look Bad
On yesterday’s Your World, host Neil Cavuto and contributor Stephen Moore of the Wall Street Journal used the sequester and the FAA furloughing of air traffic controllers to try to make President Obama look bad. Noting that “some Republicans” must be getting concerned, Cavuto "asked," “It really isn’t the Republicans’ fault, is it?”
Read moreBolling Smears Ellison As A ‘Very Dangerous’ ‘Muslim Apologist’
Just when you think Fox News bigotry can’t get any worse, it does. Yesterday, on The Five, Eric Bolling took a baseless swipe at Rep. Keith Ellison, calling him “very dangerous” and “the Muslim apologist in Congress.” The only person who challenged that disgusting statement was Dana Perino. “Liberal” Bob Beckel didn’t say a word.
Read moreGretchen Carlson Hosts TN Parent "Outraged" Over Alleged Anti-Semitic School Text
Rather than actually hosting a book burning, so popular in repressive societies, Fox News provides a platform for "outrage" over school texts that don't conform to the right wing world view and which, OMG, actually serve to stimulate critical thinking, not popular in repressive societies. In 2009, Fox & Friends did a multi-month series, part of "the trouble with schools" in which a right wing professor vilified texts that he felt were biased. (Got irony?!)The happy friends even supported the Texas Board of Education's attempts to force textbook publishers to rewrite history according to the gospel of the right wing. Recently, they hosted a parent who claims that her son's curriculum blames the US for 9-11. (It doesn't) and this morning, following up on Todd Starnes "Outrage #1,878,001," Gretchen Carlson interviewed another conservative mom who, in this case, is outraged that her son's textbook is anti-Semitic. It isn't - but it fits the meme of the Fox defined "trouble with schools" so it's all good.

The Five's lone liberal, Bob Beckel, jumped on his employers’ Islamophobia train and took it down the track further than any of the conservatives I’ve seen on Fox in the wake of the Boston Marathon bombings. Beckel announced that we should restrict most Muslim or Chinese students from studying here.

This isn't about Fox News specifically, but it's related. The Koch brothers, noted bankrollers of the Tea Party and other conservative "grassroots" activity, are reportedly considering a bid to acquire eight major newspapers, including biggies such as the Chicago Tribune and the Los Angeles Times.
Read moreTodd Starnes Outrage #1,878,001: A Textbook That Cuts Palestinians Some Slack
True to form, culture warrior Todd Starnes has found another piece of left-wing school brainwashing to get upset about. This time it’s a high school textbook which, according to “a group of outraged parents”, is anti-Semitic and promotes bias against Israel. Specifically, the book asks students to consider “If a Palestinian suicide bomber kills several dozen Israeli teenagers in a Jerusalem restaurant, is that an act of terrorism or wartime retaliation against Israeli government policies and army actions?”
Read moreHannity Hearts Call To Torture Boston Bomb Suspect
While most people were horrified by New York State Senator Greg Ball’s call for torturing Boston Marathon bomb suspect Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, Sean Hannity didn’t have a discouraging word when he hosted Ball last night on Fox’ Hannity show. Ironically, Hannity was talking up “enhanced interrogation” and waterboarding on the very night that marked four years since he had said he’d undergo it for charity (to prove that it’s not torture) and yet hasn’t.
