Fox News Bashes 'Noah' While Advertising It?!!
As the mouthpiece for the religious right, Fox News provided full support for their whine that the movie "Noah" was bad because the film replaces the word "God" with the pagan "creator." In addition to pimping the oh, so popular persecuted Christian meme, Fox, in alluding to Noah's atheist filmmaker, was able to work in some of their patented atheist bashing. So there was an abundance of rich irony in the banner ad that recently ran across the Fox News website. I realize that, as with any website, the website owners have no say about which ads appear. But still - Hahahahahah.....

Last week, Fox's The Five discussed a blog post by a U.S. District Court Judge saying female lawyers need to “tone it down” in terms of their courtroom attire. Co-host Eric Bolling asked colleague Kimberly Guilfoyle, “If you were in the courtroom would you show your ample chest? Isn’t that what he said? He said ample chest?” There was lots of laughter.
Read moreOn Fox & Friends: Ken Starr Does Infomercial For Hobby Lobby Pals' Court Case
This morning, Fox & Friends hosted Ken "Blue Dress" Starr for five almost uninterrupted minutes of validation for Hobby Lobby's case currently before the Supreme Court, as well as gushing praise for the Christian awesomeness of Hobby Lobby's owners and their wonderful store. But then Starr would be enthusiastic about Hobby Lobby's billionaire Green family given that they have a close relationship with Baylor University, a Christian school of which Ken Starr is the president. Not surprisingly Starr didn't mention his less than six degrees of separation from the subject of his advocacy.

Our readers saw right through Andrea Tantaros' faux sympathy for the families of the missing Malaysian plane passengers - which just happened to remind her of the families of the Benghazi victims. Bill O’Reilly has never looked more bigoted than in his ugly and now uglier racial attacks on Congresswoman Barbara Lee. His maliciously grim determination to smear Lee as a “race hustler” says more about him than anything about her.

In an effort to counteract policies which contravene "traditional values," the religious right is fighting back under the rubric of "religious freedom." In bizarro Christian right wing world, this is the freedom to use their bible and their god to justify denying services to gays and reproductive rights for women who now, thanks to the ACA, have access to free contraceptives - access that is being opposed by so called Christian businesses like Hobby Lobby who feel that this mandate violates their religious freedom - an argument frequently heard, on Fox News in their validation for the Catholic bishops' opposition to the law. But there's another uglier argument which seems related to the Christian right's skewed sexual views; i.e. that "we" shouldn't have to pay for slutty women to have non-procreative sex. While it was bad enough when Limbaugh articulated it, it was even worse when Fox's "leg chair" gal, Andrea Tantaros pretty much said the same thing.

Megyn Kelly threw a few real questions into her interview with Gov. Chris Christie last night. But she didn’t need to put on a “Vote Republican!” button for viewers to easily see which side she was on. Especially considering that she failed to ask Christie the single most important question surrounding his Bridgegate scandal – yet spent a considerable amount of time suggesting that President Obama is much guiltier.

Despite the toxic verbal sludge, directed against those who don't meet his high standards of right wing orthodoxy, Sean Hannity, like fellow Fox Catholic alpha-male Bill O'Reilly, frequently invokes his devout Catholicism. Last night, during yet another Fox segment bashing the godless movie "Noah," Hannity referenced his seminary background and theology acumen for extra added effect. Like Bill O'Reilly, Hannity is a legend in his own mind
