Jesse Watters, the guy who runs Fox Nation, where readers openly talk about wanting to lynch Ferguson protesters, outdid himself with race baiting today on The Five.

There’s a major race scandal broiling around incoming House Majority Whip Steve Scalise (R-LA). It involves revelations of his paid speech to a white supremacist group and threats from that group’s founder, David Duke, to name other politicians he has ties to if the Republicans throw Scalise under the bus. But you probably don’t know about it if you only get your news from Fox.

As the mouthpiece for the church of the perpetually outraged Christian right, Fox News never wastes an opportunity to bash those who don't subscribe to what is now the political, as well as religious, orthodoxy of the religious right. Any attempt to question what, for Fox and its audience, is the only true faith is met with scorn and anger. Such was the case on this morning's Fox & Friends, during which the pals argued that a recent Newsweek article, which questions bible fundamentalism, is part of the "war on Christianity." The beat goes on, the beat goes on....

Mayor Bill de Blasio has reached out to the New York police unions in an effort to resolve the hideous tensions that have arisen in the wake of de Blasio’s support for the Black Lives Matter protesters. But Megyn Kelly seems to want to keep those tensions going.

Yesterday, Fox’s Anna Kooiman and Charles Payne speculated that a foreign measuring system and/or culture was to blame for the loss of AirAsia Flight QZ8501, still missing as I write this.

In between the sacharrine stuff about how the "real meaning of Christmas" is, LOL, peace, love, and understanding, Fox News did manage to work in some standard hate filled agitprop. Tuesday, Brian Kilmeade interviewed the hate filled, anti-immigration, pro-Cliven Bundy, presidential candidate, paranoid, "filmmaker," and all-around right wing looney tooney Dennis Michael Lynch. But, as a mouthpiece for the xenophobic right, Lynch's crazy talk, about how "illegals" are using social media to get "amnesty," was, as usual, warmly received and not challenged. 

Fox’s George Will has been named the Misinformer of the Year by Media Matters. Will’s attacks on victims of sexual assault, his ethical lapses, his climate-change denial and more have earned him this distinction. Will's falsehood about Ebola was included in PolitiFact's Lie of the Year.

If anyone wonders why the #BlackLivesMatter movement has targeted Fox News for a protest this week, just check out how Fox News Sunday handled a year-in-review discussion about race today. It included Fox’s Jason Riley accusing black protesters of not wanting to be “post racial” and repeated suggestions that the only black deaths of concern are the ones caused by black people.

Yesterday, Fox News’ “Cost of Freedom” block did its best to convince viewers that an NLRB victory for union-backed McDonald’s workers organizing for higher wages and better conditions would cost Americans their freedom and maybe just about everything else they probably hold dear.

Fox did not air much of the memorial for slain NYPD officer Rafael Ramos today but that didn’t stop the network from smearing others as enemies of the police, blaming New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio for Ramos and his partner’s deaths, race baiting and suggesting that the protests will take down the economy.
