There was a memorial this morning for slain New York City police officer Rafael Ramos. Ramos was one of the two NYPD officers shot to death last week in Brooklyn. But while Fox News has been in a finger-pointing lather over the officers' deaths all week, the "fair and balanced" network had the least coverage of Ramos’ memorial than either CNN or MSNBC.
Mediaite did the survey of cable news coverage of the memorial (which, thanks to Dish’s dispute with Fox News, we can’t).
When the service began for Ramos, just after 10 AM ET, CNN covered it live from start to finish. MSNBC covered Vice President Biden’s speech live, as well as updates from reporters and interviews. But Fox News aired its Cost of Freedom business block. They had some brief updates, but that was it.
One of the shows Fox aired during the memorial was Cashin’ In. As the screen grab below shows, Cashin’ In didn’t let the network’s failure to air the memorial service stop the show from pro-police posturing or race baiting:
Nor did Fox’s own Todd Starnes. He complained in a tweet: “The MSM spent weeks covering the riots. You’d think they could spare a few hours to cover a police officer’s funeral. #PoliceLivesMatter”
Yes, we’d think so, too, Todd.
