Stephen Colbert Smacks Benghazi-Gate Down To Size
Nobody gets to the heart of Fox News maliciousness like Stephen Colbert. In his funny dissection of the Benghazi non-troversy, he also took an enjoyable swipe at Fox News’ Greg Gutfeld for calling the mainstream media “Obama’s condom.”

It’s hard to know whether to laugh or cry at the brazen hypocrisy of Sean Hannity and Fox News in calling on Dick Cheney to lecture President Obama about preventing terrorism attacks and being ready to handle attacks such as the one in Benghazi, Libya when they do come. While many may think of the Bush administration as having abjectly failed to protect the country from the original 9/11 – thousands of times worse than what happened in Benghazi on September 11, 2012 – and for killing thousands in Iraq in a war based on false claims that the country was an imminent threat (and never mind Hurricane Katrina), Hannity and Fox pretended that Cheney had some kind of track record to be proud of when it comes to protecting Americans.

In Fox's never-ending enthusiasm for the rehabilitation of Allen West from a sore loser of a Congressional candidate who was nearly court martialed for torturing a prisoner while in Iraq into a Person Who Still Matters, Fox & Friends Weekend welcomed him to the show yesterday to share his “insights” into the IRS scandal in which the agency has admitted targeting Tea Party groups for investigation. But even there, West failed in that he laughably linked the IRS inquiries to the long-debunked conspiracy theory that the federal government supposedly discriminated against Republican auto dealers during the auto bailouts. That’s the same conspiracy theory that even Fox News has debunked. But the Fox & Friends hosts developed a West-friendly bout of amnesia about that.

Geraldo Rivera was a bit more like his old Benghazi self on his radio show today and a lot less like the Geraldo Rivera on Fox News since he was reportedly admonished by Roger Ailes (which Rivera has denied) for his fiery opposition to the politicization of the scandal. Today, Rivera nicely smacked down Bolling on the claim that the military could have rushed in and saved Americans under attack in Benghazi, Libya on September 11, 2012. Then, for good measure, Rivera smacked down Bolling for his smarmy politicization of President Obama’s daughters.

Fox News “liberal Democrat” Dennis Kucinich could have (and should have) taken a lesson from Rep. Adam Smith (D-WA) today when he appeared on Fox News Sunday to discuss the Benghazi controversy before Kucinich did. Unlike Kucinich, Smith was able to both raise questions that still need to be answered about Benghazi and defend against the partisan witch hunt that Republicans have turned Benghazi into – with Fox News’ enthusiastic participation.

Dennis Kucinich appeared as a “liberal” on Fox News Sunday’s panel today. But he was so virulent in his criticism of the Obama administration's handling of the Benghazi incident, he could not have made his employer happier. Don’t get me wrong. I’ve got my own criticisms of the Obama administration. And I’ll be the first to admit that there are questions that should be answered about Benghazi. But for a liberal like Kucinich to demand answers while ignoring the ulterior motives of Fox News not only helps them advance their partisan agenda but it gives them a veneer of undeserved journalistic integrity and impartiality.
Read moreTucker Carlson's Guest Pimps Scary 'Open Border' And His Movie That Proves It!
In attempting to divide an already divided country, Fox News plays to the apocalyptic fears of those who feel that their country is being taken away from them by scary "illegal" brown people and scary Muslims. In their effort to play the fear factor card, Fox News has, on occasion, interviewed Dennis Michael Lynch whose not exactly mainstream "films" about the "open" Mexican/American border are xenophobic piece of paranoia dedicated to smearing immigrants who are - ready for it - coming here to slit your throat. He made another appearance on last Sunday's Fox & Friends. And while he didn't engage in the type of fear mongering that he did last September, he was able to morph the fear of illegal brown people with fear of Muslim terrorists. Throw in some Chinese for good measure. Mirabile Dictu!

You've probably noticed that our columns have gotten wonky the last few days. I've been working unsuccessfully at resolving the issue. I'm hopeful I'll be able to get someone at NationBuilder tomorrow and solve it. Meanwhile, if you're not seeing the "sign in" box, it's probably at the bottom of the page. Sorry for the inconvenience!
Tucker Carlson Aghast That NYC Youth Have Sex Ed 'App'
One shudders to think how famous "dick" Tucker Carlson learned about sex. But that he is clearly uncomfortable with young people getting factually based sex education which harnesses the newest technology was evident in yesterday's Fox & Friends which explored the evil ramifications of a new app, produced by the NYC Health Department, to offer information to teens about a range of topics related to sex and sexuality. But what really disturbed Carlson was that the app has locations of places where young slutty sluts can, OMG, get abortions - as well as STD testing and other health services which not mentioned by Tucker. The app was developed to help cut down on teen pregnancy which, for some in the right wing, should be "celebrated" except, of course, when said teen and baby become "takers." And as far as STD's, conservative kids are clean teens who would never get those. Right?
Read moreCharles Krauthammer's Claim That Media Ignored Gosnell Is Still Wrong!
When challenged about the accuracy of their "fair & balanced" slogan, the top brass at Fox News claimed that its "news" programs, such as Bret Baier's nightly "Special Report," are objective. But their definition of objectivity is a bit odd considering that factually inaccurate information, dare we say lies, is part of their supposed "objective" commentary. Such was the case during Friday's "Special Report" panel discussion when Charles Krauthammer, for the second time, provided factually inaccurate information, dare we say lie, about the supposed media black out of the Gosnell trial. It's ironic that while Fox is trying to present themselves as doing due diligence about covering a trial that the evil librul media has supposedly ignored, their supposedly objective coverage includes, in addition to anti-choice propaganda, inaccurate information - dare we say lies?
