Huckabee Smears Garner As A ‘Petty Street Criminal’
Mike Huckabee didn’t just suggest that the killing of Eric Garner by the police was no biggie, he completely ignored, or else never got in the first place, why Americans became so enraged that they took to the streets across the country Huckabee topped it off with a round of race baiting against our African American president by painting him a welfare king. It was all part of what looked a lot more like a campaign stump speech than news.

Yesterday, Fox’s Andrea Tantaros took the right-wing talking point that cigarette taxes are to blame for Eric Garner’s death and made it a twofer by using it to smear New York City’s Democratic mayor, Bill de Blasio. While she was at it, Tantaros took a swipe at progressives, too.
Read moreConvicted Felon Bernard Kerik Says Eric Garner To Blame For His Death, Martha MacCallum Agrees
As part of its "fair & balanced" news coverage, Fox rovides warm and supportive rehab for right wingers who say stupid stuff such as Ann Coulter's "joke" about killing John McCain's daughter Mitt Romney's "binders full of women" comment. So it's not surprising that Fox, as the defender of white America, would be providing the same service for white police officers whose actions are, uh, highly questionable. Thus, we had Elisabeth Hasselbeck providing a sympathetic view of former officer Darren Wilson. And now that the NY City police are under scrutiny for the death of Eric Garner, Fox is providing some affirmation from disgraced former police commissioner, Bernard Kerik who made his second Fox appearance, on today's America's Newsroom, where he and alleged straight news host Martha MacCallum spun the faux Fox narrative that Eric Garner wouldn't have died if he hadn't "resisted arrest."

In a discussion about the death of Eric Garner with former police commissioner Bernard Kerik, Megyn Kelly told the audience that Garner is a “convicted felon.” But she failed to mention that Kerik is, too. Instead, she referred to him as a decorated officer.
Read moreLaura Ingraham Lectures Minorities On Their Bad Behavior Because Obama Won't!
Like the satiric Steven Colbert character, the very real Laura Ingraham doesn't see color. Despite the very real evidence of systemic racism in our society, Ingraham, who exudes white privilege, thinks that racial relations are just dandy - and if they're not it's because of Obama and, of course, black people who don't know their place because they are still enslaved by Democrats. On Tuesday's Fox & Friends, Ingraham, along with her friends, played the Fox racist dog whistle loud and clear in blaming minorities for their problems and, for added racist pleasure, attacking the president for not blaming them! Funny, when Christians complain about alleged mistreatment, Fox & Friends has a totally different take on who's being victimized!
Read moreRudy Giuliani: It’s Too Difficult For Most Blacks To Take Responsibility
Predictably, Rudy Giuliani seized on the Eric Garner case as yet another opportunity to malign African Americans. This time, Giuliani announced that the reason blacks are angry at the police instead of themselves is because “it’s too difficult for them” to take responsibility. Then he suggested that he has done way more for the black community than any civil rights figure.

If you have any doubt that Sean Hannity is a bigot whose only interest in the Eric Garner or Ferguson case is how he can denigrate African Americans, check out his hideous behavior toward Rep. Eleanor Holmes Norton as she tried to explain her position on the issues raised in the police killings of unarmed Michael Brown and Eric Garner.
Read moreMegyn Kelly Called Out On Her Racial Bias In Garner Case
Megyn Kelly looked more like a prosecuting attorney than a “straight news anchor” as she hostilely “cross examined” her African American guest about why the Garner and Ferguson cases have anything to do with race. And demanded to know why African Americans aren’t protesting black-on-black crime instead. When guest Marc Morial called her out on her bias, Kelly laughably insisted, “I’m open minded!”
Read moreMegyn Kelly's 'Baldest Racism' Called Out
That Fox News is the media outlet for angry, racist white people would seem to be underscored by the presence of Megyn Kelly who has become the defender of white privilege against the mythical hordes of scary black people, demons if you will, who inhabit the nightmares of Fox's audience. Given that Kelly once opined that Santa (and Jesus) is white, it isn't surprising that a white supremacist group praised her. But her comments on the melanin content of cultural figures pale in comparison to her blatant race baiting - be it her coverage of supposed voter intimidation on the part of scary Black Panthers, a swearing black child, and Michael Brown's death and the aftermath. And after maligning the protests over Brown's killing, she is now defending the homicidal police chokehold, which resulted in the death of Eric Garner, with comments that journalist Andrew Sullivan has described as the "baldest racism."
