Hannity’s Plan To Blame Egypt Unrest On Obama Backfires
Sean Hannity’s attempt to blame President Obama for the problems in Egypt - and not so surreptitiously suggest Obama cares more about the welfare of Islamic extremists than Americans - went hilariously awry last night as even his conservative guest, Pat Buchanan, swatted it away as ridiculous and ignorant.

As a conservative Catholic "traditionalist," Bill O'Reilly mourns the demise of a power structure in which women and minorities knew their place, gays were in the closet, and the whole concept of transgender was considered the work of Satan. As such, Bill's take on transgender issues is so bad that he has been cited by GLAAD (Gay Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation). So now that California has enacted legislation, which protects transgender students, O'Reilly has offered us his sagacious opinion about it. As I reported, both Greg Gutfeld and the happy hosts of Fox & Friends were obsessed about how kids will pretend to be transgender so they can sneak a peek in bathrooms for the opposite sex (yeah, watching people urinate is so sexy). So it's no surprise that O'Reilly, whose sexual fantasies involve sneaking into a woman's shower and grabbing her breasts from behind, would focus on the bathroom stuff. But it gets better. He even joked about how the law is awesome because straight guys can use it to get into girls' rest rooms which is what he would do if he is reincarnated as a CA public school student. Ewwwww!!!!!!!

Bill O’Reilly continued his attacks on African Americans – and pretending that it’s for their own good – by joining the Fox News war on Oprah Winfrey last night. Oh, he distanced himself from his colleagues by pretending to side with Oprah in saying she had the right to “express her feelings” about that now-infamous incident in Zurich, in which a sales clerk refused to show her a purse, that white Fox pundits have leapt to conclude Oprah misconstrued. Instead, O’Reilly suggested she was being irresponsible and, perhaps racially suspect (although he later denied that) in talking about what happened to her in the first place because the racial “grievance industry” will exploit it.

When you strip away the bible quotes, the real basis for the homophobia of the Christian right seems to be an obsession with the supposed "unnaturalness" of gay sex. And when it comes to the whole concept of transgender, the small and narrow minds of the Christian right get totally short circuited. This is shown by the collective freak-out, by usual "family values" suspects, about a new California law which protects transgender students. But forget about sex, the strange obsession here is all about bathrooms - an obsession that seems to suggest that these God fearing types have some rather supersized kinky boots. That these boots are made for walking was demonstrated, Tuesday, when the happy hosts of the "morning happy-talk show that "Ailes uses as one of his primary vehicles to inject his venom into the media bloodstream" talked about the California student transgender rights law with a focus on - wait for it - bathrooms - the same focus used by Greg Gutfeld last week. Talk about a bunch of pissants!

Greg Gutfeld, a product of twelve years of Catholic education and author of "The Joy of Hate," is damned proud of his having been named, by GLAAD (Gay Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation) one of the worst anti-gay and anti-transgender voices of 2008. He was given this accolade because, as he gleefully expressed it, he referred to sex change operations as turning a "pole into a hole." That he is vying for a spot in the 2013 awards was demonstrated in his comments on last week's Factor where he was filling in for Bill O'Reilly who, like his soul brotha Gutfeld, has made derogatory comments about the transgender community - comments that generated a call, from GLAAD, to boycott O'Reilly's sponsors. Gutfeld, in promoting the transphobia of the radical Christian right, mocked the new California law which is about "supporting transgender students in an environment where they are routinely subjected to discrimination and harassment." Comedian Gutfeld showed what a joker he is by mocking this as "the bathroom bill

It’s bad enough that Fox News can’t stop whitesplaining to Oprah Winfrey that she was too racially sensitive about Trayvon Martin's death but for America Live host (white) Martha MacCallum to gang up with (white) birther Dee Dee Benkie to accuse Winfrey of being overly-sensitive about racial profiling was really beyond the pale, pardon the pun. Even worse, Benkie baselessly suggested Oprah had made up an anecdote about being profiled in a fancy store in Zurich to promote her new movie.

Ted Nugent visited Mike Huckabee’s radio show today where the two good ol’ boys talked a little game hunting. But Huckabee, showing his Christian sense of humor, no doubt, soon joked that maybe “we ought to turn loose” Nugent’s “mystical, wonderful” hunting dog “on some Democrats and see if he can hunt them, too.” The Nuge readily agreed.

While most people were outraged over the racially-tinged antics of an Obama rodeo clown at the Missouri State Fair, leave it to white-rights champion Sean Hannity to stand up for the routine – and use the opportunity to attack African Americans as racial hypocrites. But Hannity ought to be more careful before he points a finger of hypocrisy at anyone else. UPDATE: At least two other Fox shows use this segment to attack liberals.

While the right wing complains that civil rights leaders are part of a "grievance industry," the biggest purveyor of grievances seems to be the Christian right whose constant grievances get warm support on their very own network, Fox News. Their over-arching narrative, which gets lots of traction on Fox, is that while liberals mock Christianity, they don't do the same thing to Muslims which, of course, they believe deserves not just mocking but condemnation. The irony here is that while Fox News is claiming a "double standard, it has no problem attacking Muslims and atheists. This double standard, regarding what they feel is a double standard, was evident on last Friday's Factor during which former altar boy Greg Gutfeld spoke about the blowback to a tweet, sent by famous atheist and Bill O'Reilly nemesis Richard Dawkins (hmmm) about the intellectual capacity of Muslims. He whined that those who are upset about this tweet don't have the same sense of outrage when Christians are mocked and are, thus, engaging in a double standard. Then he proceeded to denigrate Muslims. Talk about a double standard?!

Donald Trump visited On The Record last night where he pimped yet another phony run for president. Even Greta Van Susteren, possibly the world’s most credulous news host, didn’t buy it. But that didn’t stop her from goading Trump into criticizing President Obama’s golf vacation and egging him on to present himself as more of a man of the people. Not only did Trump take the hint, he insisted, “I have a tremendous base” of poor and blue collar people.
