Megyn Kelly Promotes Dubious Assertion That Ft. Hood Shooter Will Psych Out Witnesses – And That They Might Lynch Him In Return
Megyn Kelly’s “fair and balanced” way of covering the news that Major Nidal Hasan, aka the “Fort Hood Shooter,” had been granted the right to represent himself at his upcoming trial was to promote the idea, along with one of Hasan’s victims, that he had been granted some kind of special privilege. That was bad enough given that Kelly is an attorney and should know better. But she also helped promote the victim’s dubious argument that, thanks to the ruling, Hasan’s psychiatric credentials would allow him to play some kind of mind games with witnesses and trial watchers so as to “push those buttons” that would trigger the victims’ PTSD and “rally extreme jihadists” during the trial. To top it off, she didn’t mind when her guest hinted he and others might lynch Hasan if that happened.

After Eric Erickson and Lou Dobbs made headlines on Fox Business Network with their sexist comments over breadwinner Moms last week, the women's rights group UltraViolet developed an ad calling on FBN to "retire" those two plus Juan Williams who was also in the segment. "Spare them the pain of equality," the ad says facetiously. But Fox executives refused to run the ad, saying that airing its own footage would somehow violate copyright.
Read moreBill O'Reilly, Adam Carolla Attack The Transgendered?
The right wing, for whom Fox News serves as a mouthpiece, believes that acceptance of the transgender community is a sign of how the "gay agenda" is out to ruin America as we know it. As documented by LGBT advocacy group, GLAAD, Fox News is more than willing to advance this bigotry. They cite "offensive and dehumanizing" comments made by Bill O'Reilly about a transgender prison inmate as well as his misrepresentation of trans-inclusive guidelines for Maine public schools - a segment in which he mocked a transgender student. O'Reilly has also opined that the *transgender student on Glee is encouraging teens to "experiment" in "alternative lifestyles." So in keeping with this pattern of disrespect, he and Adam Carolla talked about a Wisconsin school event that had nothing to do with transgender awareness - but Bill and Adam worked their alchemy and made it so and in so doing, promoted right wing paranoia about anti-bullying programs, in addition to some requisite teacher bashing. As vintage O'Reilly agitprop, it was perfection!
Read moreSteve Doocy Lets The Interns Know They Should Hate Attorney General Eric Holder
If any Fox News interns arrived with the idea that they'd be working at a "fair and balanced" network, host Steve Doocy must have set them straight, if his tweet from yesterday afternoon is to be believed.
Read moreFox's Dr. Keith Ablow: Benghazi Was Part Of Some 'Black Ops' Psychological Warfare Against Americans
Fox News psychiatrist Keith Ablow has jumped the shark with his latest column. The guy was never exactly a model of rational thinking - what with his diagnosing of Vice President Joe Biden without benefit of examination, his likening President Barack Obama to a wife beater and Psy's Gangnam Style video to a narcotic. But Ablow's latest column on FoxNews.com in which he accuses President Obama of engaging in a "black ops" psychological warfare against Americans is so off the wall that Fox really ought to consider committing him. Right after they dump him.
Read moreBob Woodward Helps O’Reilly Suggest The IRS Controversy Is President Obama’s Watergate
Of all the disturbing things I have seen on Fox News, nothing makes me sadder than watching Bob Woodward get in bed with the network without calling them out on their journalistic malpractice. Whether it’s because he doesn’t know what the network is up to (although he should by now) or because he’s angling for a paid spot, what better indicates the tragedy of the state of American news than watching the foremost icon of journalism acting as a patsy for a Fox News agenda?
Read moreGeraldo Rivera Ends His NJ Senate Campaign Before It Begins - Unless Gov. Christie Asks Him To Replace Lautenberg
The death of Senator Frank Lautenberg today "effectively ends" Geraldo Rivera's wannabe candidacy for Lautenberg's seat. Since New Jersey Governor Chris Christie will appoint Lautenberg's replacement, Rivera said he is a "very, very long shot" to be named. But he would "definitely take the call" if Christie should give him a ringy-dingy.
Read moreMonica Crowley Suggests We Need To Compromise The Bill Of Rights
Remember how, less than two weeks ago, Monica Crowley accused President Obama of “attacking,” “in every possible way, every major right” in the Bill of Rights? Apparently, it was a classic case of projection because about a week later (5/27/13), Crowley suggested to Donald Rumsfeld that the Constitution may need to be curtailed in order to fight the War on Terror.
Read moreFr. Jonathan Morris Whines That Atheists Are Disrespectful? Excuse Me?
As a the Christian right's propaganda outlet, Fox News never wastes an opportunity to attack atheists who are right up there with minorities, Muslims, and immigrants on the official Fox News enemies list. Whenever the Christian right attempts to blur the lines between church and state, Fox is right there to support them and, in so doing, advance Fox's ongoing persecuted Christian meme. Fox's official propaganda priest, Fr. Jonathan Morris, who actually believes that there should be no "wall of separation" because "God" is mentioned in the Constitution, is a vital part of this narrative. Obviously, he is not a constitutional scholar; but he is very adept at promoting the Christian right agenda such as prayer in public schools and school vouchers. He also pushes Christian right paranoia, popular on Fox, about how those evil atheists are out to destroy America, even to the point of trying to take "God" off the money and take prayer out of West Point. And despite his, and other Fox hosts' attacks on atheists, sweet lil Fr. Morris also thinks that atheists are "disrespectful" - OH, The Irony!
Read moreFox Nation Readers Debate: Should We Shoot Or Hang President Obama?
Here's the Fox News extremist-mainstreaming machine in action: contributor Allen West, an heir to the Glenn Beck/Joseph McCarthy mantle of hate mongering, validates a suggestion that impeaching President Obama should be considered and/or that he should resign - and Fox Nation trumpets it with the headline, Allen West: Impeaching Obama Should Be On The Table. As if West is some kind of opinion leader and/or anyone at Fox News would have paid West any attention had he said something like, "Republicans need to stop talking impeachment." Fox Nation readers get the hint, of course. In this case, the hatred ratcheted up to the point of two readers arguing about methods of executing President Obama, Vice President Biden, Attorney General Holder and Nancy Pelosi.
