Bill O’Reilly’s Blasts The NY Times Benghazi Report With Sleight-Of-Hand Bull****
You know the old legal aphorism? "If you have the facts on your side, pound the facts. If you have the law on your side, pound the law. If you have neither on your side, pound the table." That came to mind watching Bill O’Reilly rail against the New York Times in an effort to discredit their Benghazi investigation that was extremely damaging to Fox News’ year-long claims. Fortunately, for truth lovers, media critic Howard Kurtz showed some rare spine and integrity and smacked down some of O’Reilly’s bloviating but good.

In case you don't recognize Michael Scheuer's name, he appears regularly on Fox News as a foreign affairs/Middle East expert. But in a recent column on his website, Scheuer suggested that the patriotic thing to do is kill President Obama and England's Prime Minister David Cameron. One day later, he appeared on the Fox Business Network to paint Hillary Clinton as a murderer discuss Benghazi.
Read moreBrian Kilmeade Whines About 'Feminization Of Men' While Discussing 'Wussification' Of American Men!
While the women on Fox News are quite comely, Fox News men are not exactly macho stud muffins. (Picture Steve Doocy and Greg Gutfeld) Yet, Fox News, as part of its ongoing lament over the decline of traditional and patriarchal America, seems to be focused on the "wussification" of America as manifested by school yoga programs and paid internships, among other things. Roger Ailes' (not exactly Hugh Jackman) love for a Christian patriarch was certainly shown in Fox's support for the homophobic Duck Dynasty patriarch as well as the promotion of Suzanne Venker's anti-feminist lunacy. Fox & Friends got the wussification thing rolling with their promotion of the seriously deranged and homophobic views of Christian "comic" Brad Stine. Brian Kilmeade recently hosted a "mommy blogger" who wants "boys to be boys." And this morning, the Fox friends started 2014 with a lament about - wait for it - wussification of American men.

Media Matters’ Oliver Willis has a very interesting discussion about revelations from the ongoing phone hacking trial of several News Corporation editors and executives in England. Taken as a whole, they paint quite an incriminating picture.
Read moreFox Fear Mongers The Election Of Bill De Blasio As NYC Mayor: ‘We May All Be Doomed!’
It’s been a little more than 24 hours since Bill de Blasio became mayor of New York and, as far as I can tell, the city's still standing, despite the snowstorm bearing down on it. But to listen to Fox’s Charles Payne and Charles Gasparino on New Year’s Eve afternoon, it’s only a matter of time until capitalism – and then the city and country fall apart. Oh, and while he was at it, Gasparino gave an unintentionally hilarious description of his life as a "card-carrying" Catholic.
Read moreFox & Friends Pimp GOP Rep.'s 'Bill' (Actually Resolution) To Save Christmas
This GOP led US Congress is on track to be "the least productive" session in history. But in the midst of constant obstruction and ongoing attempts to repeal the Affordable Care Act, there is one brave GOP Representative who is doing the Lord's work in trying to reach across the aisle. Teabagging Rep. Doug Lamborn, who once compared our first African-American president to the "Tar Baby" and who loves the First Amendment so much that he has banned public protest outside his Colorado office (cept for teabaggers), is the sponsor of a proposed Congressional resolution which would ensure that Christmas, which is btw, under attack, is protected under the First Amendment - or something like that! And for his efforts on behalf of that very endangered holiday, he was praised and thanked by the Fox & Friends Christmas loving Christmas Eve crew.
Read moreFox News Smears The Majority Of Americans Who Support Minimum Wage Increase As Misguided
You can chalk up the 66% of Americans who support raising the minimum wage as yet another sector of the United States that Fox News “patriots” don’t respect. In a “Happening Now” discussion on the subject today, Fox News contributor Angela McGlowan sneered, “I think the Americans that were actually polled did not make a payroll.”
Read moreOn America's Newsroom - Stephen Hayes Lies About HHS Birth Control Mandate Covering Abortion Drugs
As the mouthpiece for the US Conference of Catholic Bishops, Fox News has steadfastly validated the Catholic Church's opposition to the HHS mandate which requires all employers, with the exception of churches, to provide birth control coverage (as well as a wide range of women's healthcare services) in their employee insurance plans. But the Catholic Church believes that emergency contraception, covered under the law, is an abortion drug. Thus, Fox News has validated, on *many occasions, this lie as well as the lie that the law covers actual abortion inducing drugs. The bishops and an order of nuns have filed lawsuits to avoid compliance with the law. The nuns were just given a temporary exemption. This latest development was discussed on this morning's America's Newsroom where right wing columnist Stephen Hayes advanced, once again, the lie that the mandate includes "abortifacients." Good conservative Catholic and alleged "news" anchor, Bill Hemmer, didn't set the record straight.
Read moreFox News Gives A Warm Welcome To BFFs From Duck Dynasty On New Year’s Eve
In case you had any doubt that Fox News considers Duck Dynasty’s Robertson family as one of their own kind, check out much New Year’s Eve co-Host Elisabeth Hasselbeck slobbered over Willie and Korie Robertson when they joined the telecast last night. Co-host Bill Hemmer repeatedly tried to get the couple to disparage A&E but it was all love and “happy, happy, happy,” as Korie Robertson put it, between them and the network.
Read moreKelly Wright, Juan Williams Pimp Christian Right's America Founded On Faith Meme
The religious right has created a false historical narrative which claims that America was founded as a Christian nation and, ergo, those who seek to maintain separation of church and state are both anti-Christian and unpatriotic. There is a cottage industry in this bogus, revisionist "Christian" history as seen in Mike Huckabee's history for kids DVD's and anything written by bogus historian David Barton. While our Founders expressed themselves in devotional terms, they were Deists who, in creating our Constitution, sought to ensure that this country would not become embroiled in the types of church/state conflicts which had wracked Europe for centuries. But in the bizarro world of the Christian right and Fox News, our nation was founded on "faith" which is under attack by secularists. On Christmas Eve, Kelly Wright and Juan Williams advanced this narrative which worked in some war on Christmas figgy pudding.
