Given that Fox's Todd Starnes is a Jesus loving, homo hating embracer of "traditional" American values, it's not surprising that he was a guest on the radio show of Janet Mefford, who is "the go-to host for LGBT hate mongers." It's also not surprising that Starnes joined his fellow right wing LGBT hate mongers in denouncing how Michael Sam kissed his boyfriend when Sam was notified that he had been selected to play football for the St. Louis Rams. Starnes, who is quite the connoisseur of leather fashion gear and giant burritos at gay pride parades, was quite upset about the pubic display of genuine emotion. But funny, Starnes didn't seem to have the same outrage about one of his Duck Dynasty pals when he locked lips with his sweetie!
Starnes advanced the homophobic paranoia so popular with the Christian family values crowd. He told Mefford that Sam's "slobber knocker of a kiss" was all about that nefarious "gay agenda" which aims to destroy Starnes Jesus loving, homo hating America.
On Facebook, Starnes lamented that the kiss shows “we are no longer allowed to have fun and enjoy sports or entertainment programs." But I know that Starnes is a fan of the Jesus loving, homo hating Duck Dynasty guys and during the episode when patriarch Phil renewed his marriage vows, he and his sweetheart engaged in what Starnes would say is a "slobber knocker" exchange of saliva.
Does Todd Starnes have a double standard?
On a more serious point, it is kind of refreshing that all the right-wing disgust has been homophobia-related rather than race-related (although it wouldn’t really surprise me that the bigots are letting the “ick, gays” overshadow the “ick, interracial”). After having to deal with the Cliven Bundy and Donald Sterling stories of the last several weeks, stories of plain old-fashioned homophobia seem a bit refreshing. Of course, like most other things, too much gets very old, very fast.
Tard Starnes must have stopped watching baseball a long time ago, considering that they slap each other on the ass repeatedly during games that are televised!
