As Newshounds Ellen reported, the narcissistic and delusional Bill O'Reilly is, once again, taking credit for saving Christmas. And once again, he is either deliberately lying or actually believes this Christmas crap. Among other grandiose delusions, Bill is claiming that companies, which once forbad their workers to say "Merry Christmas," have changed their policy due to his advocacy 'The reality is that this never happened in the first place. But he might be able take credit for something that reflects the bullying nature of his bogus "war on Christmas." As with the murder of abortion provider, Dr. Tiller, we can't say if there is a cause and effect here - but in the same way that Bill created a climate of hate in which the doctor was murdered, Bill's Christmas crusade seems to have contributed to a climate of Christian hate in which a Salvation Army bell ringer was allegedly assaulted because she said "happy holidays." Nothing says the peace and joy of Christmas like punching somebody who doesn't follow Bill O'Reilly's rules of Christian Christmas etiquette.
A Salvation Army bell wringer, in PhoenixAZ, alleges that she was assaulted outside a Walmart store. According to UPI:
The lady looked at me," said Vindiola. "I thought she was going to put money in the kettle. She came up to me and said, 'Do you believe in God?' And she says, 'You're supposed to say Merry Christmas,' and that's when she hit me." Vindiola said the woman hit her in the arm before going inside the store. The bell ringer informed a store manager, who called police."She should've just been happy I said 'Happy Holidays,' but I got hit because I didn't say 'Merry Christmas,'" Vindiola said.
Amanda Marcotte has a great article on the "cynical" Fox war on Christmas which she describes as a way for Fox to play to its "paranoid, gullible, aging white audience in a constant fit of self-righteous outrage." And who better to play to that fear and loathing than the aging white Bill O'Reilly who is also in a "constant fit of self-righteous outrage." And as we saw with Tiller, when Bill O'Reilly talks, people listen and as happened with the Christian crusades of old, things get a little out of control!
Addendum: Isn't the Salvation Army a conservative, Christian organization?

I wonder if that would apply to a Salvation Army worker being assaulted by an irate “Christian?” And around whom would FoxNoise rally? The “knockout game” victim or the “Christian?”
