Sean Hannity spent almost a full hour on a lapdog interview with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu last night. The whole thing served as little more than an infomercial for Israel’s attacks on Gaza. Hannity’s slobbering admiration for Netanyahu was bad enough when you contrast that with his blatant hostility toward President Obama. But Hannity deliberately baited the foreign prime minister to smear our American president for giving foreign aid to Egypt and Palestine. Can you just imagine the Hannity hissy fit if an MSNBC host went to any foreign country and tried to get its leader to malign President George W. Bush?
About 4 minutes in, Hannity tried to get Netanyahu to attack Obama – while pretending otherwise:
HANNITY: There’s a moral issue for the United States. And I’m not going to drag you into political battles within my country but when Mohamed Morsi, former head of the Muslim Brotherhood, became the president of Egypt, our country, the United States, gave him F-16s, tanks and $1.5 billion. I know the United States – even though the Palestinian people voted in this coalition government with Hamas, they get 10s and 10s and hundreds of millions of dollars from the United States.
If that is the government that is elected by the people of these countries, morally speaking, is it right that we give them – considering Israel is our closes ally here – to give them money or arms?
Netanyahu looked like a mastermind of diplomacy and tact next to Hannity. The prime minister said, “I think the support that is given to our neighbors should be as premised on the assumption that they keep the peace, that they do not violate the peace. And I think that premise should be maintained.”
Hannity didn’t hide the disappointment in his voice. He said, “You do believe that.” But hope for spreading hatred for America sprang eternal for Hannity. He later added, “Even when it’s violated, though?”
“I think you should insist on it,” Netanyahu said pointedly. Netanyahu cited aid to Egypt as an example of aid given on the assumption that the country would keep the peace.
But Hannity pushed more: “Mohamed Morsi was a man that once referred to the Israelis as descendants of apes and pigs,” he said.
Netanyahu didn’t want to go there. He merely said, “You want to make sure that the peace treaty between Israel and Egypt is being maintained and that’s the premise of the American assistance to Egypt. The premise of the American assistance to the Palestinian Authority is that they move towards peace with Israel. And I think these are valid premises that should be kept.”
Since Hannity is planning on leaving New York, he really ought to consider moving to Israel. He obviously likes that country so much more than his own.
Watch Hannity flaunt his anti-Americanism below:
We make no bones about what we do here: we are a site written by liberals for liberals about Fox News tactics.
Now, maybe we are not your cup of tea or you don’t like our attitude or whatever. But you have no basis to impugn our honesty or integrity. And, frankly, throwing around accusations without backing them up makes you look a lot like the very thing you are accusing us of being.
It’s not about prerogative…it’s about intellectual honesty. People who always find fault with anything just because it’s on Fox and take as fact everything that appears on MSNBC are no better than those who do the opposite.
Newhounds is about demonizing the right…not being accurate…same as MRC and Media Matters, the latter of which I’m sure you like also.

Sorry you don’t like the site. It’s your prerogative. However, the point of this post was not the entire interview, which I did watch and described above, but this segment – in which Hannity tried to get Netanyahu to attack Obama. No, Hannity didn’t mention Obama directly but Hannity’s message that Obama is too cozy with Muslims and not enough with Israel – and his effort to goad Netanyahu into going there – was unmistakeable, IMO.
That is no way for a talk show host to behave, especially one that boasts about being a Great American.
This site and the people commenting here are part and parcel of what’s wrong with this country: anyone you disagree with isn’t just wrong, he’s a evil lying bastard. So instead of focusing on the context of the entire interview (which doesn’t even mention anything about Obama – only our overall foreign aid to Israel’s neighbors) you simply use it to slam Hannity.
How exactly does that make you any better than Fox? Because if conservatives distort the facts it’s unacceptable but if liberals do it, it’s OK?
Sounds legit.
“The only reason Hannocchio went to Israel, “up close and personal,” was — as others here have pointed out — was to besmirch Obama. And to promote war!”
Yes indeed Joe — PFC (Privileged Fascist Chickenhawk) KKKlannity is once again ITCHING LIKE HELL to start another war for OTHER Americans not as fortunate as him to fight and die in.
’Nuff said.
So Joe, you support a “diplomat” who refers to Gazans as “telegenically dead”? He’s no diplomat. He does know, however, which side his bread is buttered on and will go only so far, and usually through aides speaking anonymously to more respectable news outlets, in sliming Obama.
He wants more and more money from the U.S., and he wants us to go to war with Iran for him.
Recently, after a particularly vicious and personal round of insults to both Obama and Kerry by anonymous Netanyahu officials in the Israeli press, he had no qualms about submitting a demand for another couple hundred million dollars from the U.S. to continue his assault on Gazan civilians. That’s what we call chutzpah.
Will never happen! He’d actually be forced to live each day surrounded by a lot of Jews. Slanthead doesn’t like Jews. His history of subtle anti-Semitic remarks and his overt support of vile, ranting Jew haters like Mel Gibson speaks for itself.
The only reason Hannocchio went to Israel, “up close and personal,” was — as others here have pointed out — was to besmirch Obama. And to promote war!
I haven’t listened to this jerk (on the radio) much in the past week (afternoon Mets games bumping him, other things to do), but I heard a few minutes the other day when he proclaimed that peace was not the absence of war, but a “strong defense.”
Slanthead simply wants to see bullets fly! He’s a pathological warmonger!
It’s obvious that he didn’t get too much satisfaction from his “up close and personal” trip to the Rio Grande a couple of weeks ago, since it was only a photo-op, pure and simple.
[That photo has been on Bob Cesca’s mind lately, as he tells us in one of his best Hannity pieces yet: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/bob-cesca/the-real-enemy-isnt-undoc_b_5638652.html}
Anyway, Netanyahu is the diplomat, for sure. And that’s why I continue to support him (though I wish the IDF’s aim could be better).
You are absolutely correct, Scooter. He sings a different tune because the sitting president is Obama.
If a Democrat had gone over to Israel and criticized the Bush Administration’s handling of the Israel/Gaza conflict, the Fox “News” cafeteria Catholics, including Hannocchio, would have labeled his/her trip treasonous.
Like we said in a previous post, the real purpose of Hannocchio’s little field trip to Israel was to discredit the Obama Administration, and Democrats.
Hannocchio will find anything, or do anything to destroy President Obama and the Democrats. That is his real agenda.
The Stop Hannity Express knows this clown very well. He’s a scheming, vengeful and conniving little man who is slippery as a bucket of eels. His audience has no idea about the real Hannocchio.
He should never, ever be allowed to have any access to international leaders. What he whispers to them when the cameras are off should be a security concern to the U.S., especially of his massive hate toward Obama.
Based on his background, we don’t trust Hannocchio. Never did, never will.
We hope the hairstylists at Fox does not freak out if she finds three numbers on the back of his head.
NOTE TO SO-CALLED CHRISTIAN HANNITY
We’ve been warned about your type.

You should take a look at Klannity’s facebook page. Nothing but posts about how brave he is to be over there and telling the truth about those evil, godless Palestinians and the poor, poor Israeli schoolchildren how can’t go out and play because of those deadly Hamas missiles being launched at their playgrounds. I posted a comment that maybe Klannity should go to Gaza City for a couple of days and interview some Palestinian kids about why they go out and play either. But I guess he wouldn’t like their answer that the Israelis bombed the shit out of their schools and playgrounds so there aren’t any for them to play in. You can imagine how many “likes” I got for that comment.
’Nuff said.
