I realize that Smith was generally recognized as one of the few “good ones” at Fox, but without him now explicitly rejecting the widespread evils at Fox, he will never have much credibility as a journalist. He helped prop up that network for years, which is not easily forgotten.

As appalled as I am by Grisham, she is doing standard duty as press secretary, no surprises there. No surprise from Horrible Hannity either. DiGenova never fails to outrage, but is a less known commodity, so he gets my vote this week.

This week’s contest is unusually hard. I had to stop and seethe after reading each quote. Fortunately Tucker Carlson went beyond any shred of human decency. If not for him, I don’t know how I would have voted.

I usually watch pieces of the various Sunday morning talk shows. Chris Wallace usually offers the most insightful interviews, as his guests seem to expect the usual Fox softballs and are less guarded as a result. Bill Hemmer was horrible as a substitute, firmly in the Carlson/Hannity/Ingraham mold. His treatment of Mulvaney and others is a primer on why Fox should not be trusted.

It’s almost reassuring to see that Liz Cheney’s elected position has not caused her to be less vile than she was previously as a frequent Fox contributor.

I watch Maher’s show every week, and this was one of his best shows ever. If you don’t have HBO, the entire 8/3/18 program is available for free on YouTube. Highly recommended.

Last week I watched the fun movie “Clueless” again, recommended watching. The only negative – Stacey Dash had a big role as the best friend, and her performance was just as wooden as recently on Fox’s Outnumbered. Also, given her three divorces to date, her marriage observations are ironic.

Ms Tantaros certainly did not deserve the harassment she received at Fox. At the same time, I recall her as being one of the snarkiest, most unpleasant people employed by Fox, and that is “high praise” indeed for that network. I am glad she is not in the airwaves any longer.
