Sarah Palin has a message for the haters: “I’m gonna bug the crap out of ‘em by being out there, with a voice, with a message, hopefully running for office in the future, too.”
I think we can put the likelihood of Palin running for office again right up there with “when pigs fly.” After all, this is the woman who is the poster child for ignorant politicians and who quit her last elected office via a rambling and inexplicable announcement. Just a few months ago, a poll found that 54% of Americans are tired of hearing from her. This is not a woman who has a mandate nor one who will likely have one ever.
But on today’s Varney & Co., host Stuart Varney pretended otherwise. Or maybe he was just too busy helping her play the victim card.
“The hatred level directed against you is absolutely extraordinary and it’s a disgrace,” Varney said at the beginning of the interview.
Never mind the hatred Palin directs against others. Varney certainly didn’t. Even when she later went on one of her trademark rants against liberals. Instead, he asked whether all those meanies have “driven you out of politics?”
No, not at all, Palin insisted. She replied:
Uh, no. Bless their hearts, those haters out there. They don’t understand that it invigorates me. It wants me to get out there and defend the innocent. It makes me want to work so hard for justice in this country. So, hey, the more they’re pouring on, the more I’m gonna bug the crap out of ‘em by being out there, with a voice, with a message, hopefully running for office in the future, too.
But she has not been motivated enough to spend money from her PAC on any of those causes - except her own, eh?
Varney didn’t bring up that bit of embarrassment, either.

So yes, Sarah, we dare you to run for office. It will be epic entertainment.
Most of my Republican family and friends have grown tired of her act and have figured her out and realize that she can only be interviewed by the likes of Sean, Greta and the trio from Fox and Friends who will never challenge her and probably give her the questions they’ll ask her in advance to allow her time to properly answer with the best spin.
So — if we’re to understand her properly, she intends to
- bug people
- be “out there” (presumably on TV)
- use her voice (ugh)
- send out a message (whatever that is)
- and (maybe) run for office
Looks like she has her priorities in order . . .
