It looks like Rupert Murdoch is not taking the "blame John McCain" excuse for Donald Trump's attack on his status as a war hero. Is this a power struggle between Murdoch and Roger Ailes? Or just a disconnect?
On Saturday, Rupert Murdoch tweeted, "When is Donald Trump going to stop embarrassing his friends, let alone the whole country?"
Yet, Fox has continued to champion Trump, with the obvious approval - if not direction - of Fox chief Roger Ailes. Today, Fox even blamed John McCain for Trump's smearing of him.
Will the big boss step in and overrule Ailes?
Stay tuned.
By the way, you gotta love this reply tweet from Mother Jones' David Corn:

When the malignant magnate of Melbourne calls you an embarrassment, that’s got to hurt!

Trump is not embarrassing the country. Only himself with his own self-inflicted wounds.
The ratings should be great for Fox at the first debate next month waiting to hear Trump go off the rails. After that then they might pull the plug on any positive coverage or defend him and completely abandon him.

Is there a power struggle going on between Ailes and Murdoch?
