Megyn Kelly took a minute before she began race baiting the Ferguson protests her show tonight to address the controversy over her debate question to Donald Trump
Kelly made her debate “Megyn Moment” by asking Trump about his sexist attacks on women. Kelly noted that he has called women, "fat pigs, dogs, slobs and disgusting animals." Trump responded later with a series of childish attacks: calling Kelly a bimbo and suggesting she was having her period. Such a backlash erupted that Fox chief Roger Ailes had to step in and, apparently, soothed Trump’s oh-so-sensitive feathers.
Kelly, however, was unapologetic.
KELLY: Apparently, Mr. Trump thought the question I asked was unfair and felt I was attacking him. I felt he was asked a tough but fair question. We agreed to disagree. Mr. Trump did interviews over the weekend that attacked me personally. I’ve decided not to respond.
Mr. Trump is an interesting man who has captured the attention of the electorate. That’s why he’s leading in the polls. Trump, who is the frontrunner, will not apologize. And I certainly will not apologize for doing good journalism. So I’ll continue doing my job without fear or favor. And Mr. Trump, I expect, will continue with what has been a successful campaign thus far. This is a tough business. And it’s time now to move forward. And now let’s get back to the news.
Actually, what Kelly got right back to was race baiting. I’ll have more on that in a later post. But the point is, that just because Kelly had the grit to stare down Trump, she’s no independent journalist and hardly the “straight news anchor” she likes to call herself.
