For a guy Fox News keeps saying is a has-been comedian, they sure keep spending a lot of airtime talking about Jim Carrey over at “fair and balanced” central. After almost an entire week of attacking him over his Funny or Die video that mocked Charlton Heston and gun zealots, they now seem ready to spend this week attacking him over his response to Fox.
As we previously posted, Carrey struck back on Friday with a statement calling Fox “Fux News” and a “media colostomy bag.” But those tough armchair generals at Fox are fighting on. On Friday, The Five hit back at the hit-back and thereby “fuel(ed) a fire that mature adults would have let flame out days ago,” as Greg Gilman put it in his post on TheWrap.com that accompanied the video.
Today, smarmy stalker/ambusher Jesse Watters, guest hosting Fox & Friends Weekend, teamed up with lying Steven Crowder for another round against the supposedly washed-up Carrey. Talk about offensive and unfunny! Crowder, you probably recall, is the “comedian” whose idea of humor is to make jokes about rape-survivor Ashley Judd’s “obsession” with rape. That is, when he’s not busy editing video so as to make it look like he was unfairly attacked by “union thugs.”
After Michigan prosecutors questioned Crowder’s integrity and honesty in submitting a deceptively edited video as “proof” that he had been “sucker punched” by a “union thug” (when it turned out the union member had been pushed to the ground first), I wrote that there was no doubt Fox News would stick by Crowder since they had never abandoned Andrew Breitbart despite his phony videos. I hate to say it – because I wish I had been wrong and that Fox would show just a teensy bit of concern for truth from their contributors – but I told you so.
This morning, Crowder “quipped” that it was “more offensive for me to say, ‘Happy Easter’” to liberals than to smear rural Americans, the deceased Charlton Heston and the Second Amendment. Yes, if only Carrey had had the good taste to mock 9/11 widows or the victim of Parkinson’s or a law student speaking out in favor of contraception coverage in health insurance – why, then he could have been a Fox News hero like Crowder.
Fox News: where offensive and un-funny is welcome – so long as you target liberals at the same time.
Greg Gutfeld claims to be a comedian.
He is the most UN-FUNNY person I have ever seen!
The only one laughing at his lame jokes, is HIM!
(LOSER!)
The deceptively edited original for his assault claim (which the far right is still using in their anti-union arguments)
A video portraying womens rights advocates as a pack of vapid sluts.
A supposedly pro-Israel video that shows Jewish people as not only every stereotype in the book, but also as chickenhawk war profiteers. No, I am not kidding.
Gee, I wonder what he’ll be remembered for?
