Fox’s Bill Hemmer Uses Belgium Terrorist Attacks To Suggest Obama Should Cut Short His Cuba Trip

Fox host Bill Hemmer never explained why President Obama couldn’t assert the needed “global leadership” on terrorism from Cuba but used Obama’s trip there to suggest that he is somehow soft on the subject.

While waiting for President Obama’s speech in Cuba,  (which Fox News cut short in order to criticize him over the Belgium attacks), Bill Hemmer tried to get his guest to work in a little pre-bashing of Obama on terrorism.

HEMMER: You know, you heard John Kasich there, saying that the president needs to come now and assert global leadership immediately. This is a historic trip. It is something that he has wanted to do for quite some time. You remember his reaction four months ago, the attacks in Paris when he was speaking at the G8 Summit in Turkey. What would you expect his reaction to be this, today. Is it more of the same or is it different now?

You may recall that Fox couldn't criticize Obama enough over his reaction to the Paris attacks so it was clear what Hemmer was hinting.

King got the message. He said Obama “should not come home in a panic” but should “curtail the trip” in order to “show the concern he has” and to make up for not having shown “any great concern with Paris, didn’t go over there at the time.” He should “assert leadership” in the world. “This is much more important than Cuba.”

King continued by ominously calling for racial profiling. “We have to have direct surveillance, human surveillance, in the Muslim communities… whether you want to call it profiling… We can’t just be relying on intercepting phone calls… We have to be more aggressive about going into the communities and not calling it political correctness.”

Hemmer never asked what kind of measures King was calling for but sounded very pleased as he thanked King and closed the discussion.

Watch it below, from the March 22 America’s Newsroom.

I would imagine that the very last thing a government dealing with a terrorist attack or any other catastrophe (including hurricanes, floods, etc.) need is some big shot from another country coming along to drain valuable resources away from the anti-catastrophe effort. Sensitive big shots realise that they can express solidarity by phone or Twitter or whatever because their presence won’t be of any help whatever.

Wouldn’t surprise me one bit were The Donald to fly over there to take advantage of the photo opportunity. I really am starting to think that that megalomaniac could be that stupid.

Well, I’ll give FoxNoise’s suggestions consideration just as soon as the next white guy who shoots up a theater or school/university leads to a serious discussion about having “direct surveillance” in gun shops and Christian churches and tRump rallies.

Of course, THAT will NEVER happen because, you know, that makes up a large portion of the FoxNoise audience.

GOPiggies assert leadership by pooping their pants and quaking in fear.

“Assert global leadership” — IOW, you WANT him to act like the “wannabe dictator” you frequently claim he is . . . is that what you guys are saying?

Appreciate you looking out for the President’s schedule, Bill, but — unlike the repubs — President Obama can walk and chew gum at the same time . . .

“Cans” =“and” in Teddy’s quote. This editor sucks and it doesn’t help I’m using my phone.

Why is Fox News beating around the the bush and not blaming the terrorist attack on Obama yet? 👍

On a more serious note, King is playing the same dog whistle ‘Muslim neighborhood’ politics as Klandidate Cruz. Teddy is quoted as writing in a press release “We need to empower law enforcement to patrol cans secure Muslim neighborhoods before they become radicalized.”

Because sub-genius imagines all Muslims clan together. Certainly if this were true a routine police show of force will certainly de-radicalize folks. Just the ticket [no pun intended] to help recent Muslim immigrants [if such a thing is allowed after November] integrate into society.

It’s so tempting to make Nazi analogies of government imposed Muslim ghettos and all Muslims being forced to wear the star and crescent sewn on their outer garments but, naturally, I’d be accused of gross exaggeration. Yet, when you see popular bigots like Cruz and Trump working people into a mad panic over the relatively tiny threat of domestic terrorism I have wonder how far will the far right push America? There are still Americans alive today who inhabited Japanese internment camps.
