Dr. Ben Carson: Widespread Anarchy May Prevent 2016 Elections

Dr. Ben Carson – who is considering a run for president in 2016 – fear mongered that there is the “potential” for “widespread anarchy” in the U.S. that might disrupt or cause the cancellation of the 2016 election.

On Fox News Sunday today, there was the following exchange between host Chris Wallace and Carson:

WALLACE: You are thinking about running for president in 2016. And I want to talk to you about that in a moment, but it has brought attention back to some of your comments as it does to any candidate potentially running for president. You said recently that you thought that there might not actually be elections in 2016 because of widespread anarchy. Do you really believe that?

CARSON: Well, I hope that that’s not going to be the case, but certainly there is the potential. Because you have to recognize that we have a rapidly increasing national debt. A very unstable financial foundation. And you have all these things going on like the ISIS crisis that could very rapidly change things that are going on in our nation. And unless we begin to deal with these things in a comprehensive way, and in a logical way, there is no telling what could happen in just a matter of a couple of years. And particularly in a situation where we have a Senate and a Senate leader who has over 300 bills sitting on his desk will not bring them to the floor for a vote, thereby thwarting the will of the people. And this country was supposed to be a country where the government conformed to the will of the people, not the people conform to the will of the government.

As Think Progress noted, “The United States has held presidential elections every four years since 1788, despite a civil war, two world wars, and a great depression.

Carson may have come in a relatively close second at the recent Values Voters Summit, but no matter how much he fear mongers, and no matter how much Fox helps promote his candidacy, Carson's failure to become the 45th president of the United States almost certainly will not be because the elections get canceled.

Watch one more reason Carson will never be elected, below.

Key difference between Dems and Reps: the people in the Democratic party that hold similar “outside the mainstream” views are not considered serious presidential candidates.

Note to Ben – partisan bullshit from the Teabagger Congress does NOT represent the will of the people, and Harry Reid fucking knows it.

Now hold on there, pardner, I thought the hoards were supposed to be marching down the streets back in 2008 after the election. And I was disappointed again in 2012, no marching hoards of people waving commie flags. Don’t tease me like that Dr. Ben!

Bonehead Ben is just this year’s Repug version of Crazy Train Herman Cain or Alan Keyes. T-baggers will cheer his anti-Obama screeds. They will piously plead that they aren’t racially prejudiced because after all, Bonehead Ben is black. But when it comes to voting for a Repug Presidential nominee, Ben will be ignored.

I’m more amazed that they had him as a guest on the Sunday morning network program. He holds no public office, hasn’t been elected to anything, has zero chance of winning the nomination and yet he’s brought on in the spotlight as if his dislike for the President is different from the many on FNC that they show daily with their continuous marathon coverage of Obama bashing.

This 17 second clip will explain my opinion of Dr. Carson…http://youtu.be/MOUt6gTU1tw

Was not aware the total overthrow of the US government by corporate America would be completed by 2016!

truman, I’m not so sure about that. It would, however, make it much tougher for Carson to get any attention (even on FoxNoise) since his shtick is NO different from the usual (white) right-wing suspects.

If Bonehead Ben had white skin, LIttle Chrissie Wallace wouldn’t spend two seconds listening to his inane opinions.

I really hope he becomes the GOP nominee. Think of the money the Democratic Party could save because whoever is nominated will landslide Carson without even having to campaign. What he said above is fear mongering crap pure and simple. Put him on the GOP candidate ruining Sean Hannity Show to kiss his a.. and like all others he’s done.

Carson will almost certainly never be president... but not because "widespread anarchy" prevents the election.
