Birther Fox Military Analyst Wants To Run Obama Supporters Off The Road

Fox News military analyst Bill Cowan revealed his rabid partisanship recently when he said he hates President Obama and his supporters so much that when he sees an Obama bumper sticker, his anger becomes “overwhelming” and “I want to run 'em off the road. I don't care if it's a woman." He later described Obama supporters as the “something-for-nothing people.” Cowan also said “we don’t know” if Obama is a legitimate president.

You may recall that not long ago Fox hosts Bill O’Reilly and Heather Nauert recently said that Cowan and the other Fox military analysts couldn’t be classified as liberal or conservative because they “don’t have ideology.” Well, Cowan’s recent remarks to a South Carolina Tea Party group show what “non-ideological” looks like to Fox:

COWAN: My anger these days isn’t all at Obama. …My anger is at every last person that voted for him. When I see an Obama sticker go by in a car, I’ve never had anger like that in my life. I want to run ‘em off the road. I don’t care if it’s a woman. (There was loud laughter in the audience) I’m not kidding, my anger is overwhelming at the people who vote for Obama because I think they just plain have no idea what he is or what’s happening to their country. And they’re the something-for-nothing people.

Cowan is at least the second Fox News employee to yearn for bodily harm to Obama supporters. You may recall that about a year ago, Fox host Andrea Tantaros urged her radio show listeners to “do me a favor” and “if you see any of those people (Obama supporters) today…  punch ‘em in the face.”

Cowan was also asked whether President Obama is “a legitimate American” and a “legitimate president.”

Cowan replied, “We don’t know and we may not know for another 100 years.” Newsflash for Cowan: We know and have known for years that President Obama was born in the U.S.A.

Cowan went on to say that regardless of Obama’s birth, “we’re stuck with the guy” because we could never get him out of office before his term ends. “So at the end of the day it doesn’t matter, Cowan argued. “Doesn’t matter, because we’re going to be electing someone else next time and if we’re not careful, it’s going to be Hillary Clinton.”

Richard Santalone/Sandman2: Good points. It makes no sense at all to elect people who say government is bad to run government.

From Sandman2’s comment:

“Cowan hates Government, but, ironically has spent most of his life drawing a paycheck from that same Government. These people make me sad for our country.”

Indeed Sandman2. You’ve just described the one characteristic TOTALLY INHERENT in all reichwingers, especially the “Tea-Libans” (i.e. members of the Koch brothers-backed Tea Party which are also knows as teabaggers):

“I’VE GOT MINE THANKS TO UNCLE SAM, TO HELL WITH YOU, GO F**K YOURSELF!”

Mark my words folks: This attitude is what’s TEARING AMERICA APART!

’Nuff said.

2008: Obama: 69,498,516 votes
McCain: 59,948,323 votes

2012: Obama: 65,915,796 votes
Romney: 60,933,500 votes

Looks legitimate to me.

Vietnam War[edit]

Cowan enlisted in the United States Navy at the age of 17, received an appointment to and graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy in 1966, and was commissioned as a lieutenant the United States Marine Corps. He subsequently spent three and a half years in Vietnam. On his first tour he served as a platoon commander at the siege of Khe Sanh, and later was in charge of the 3rd Marine Division’s Kit Carson Scouts program for five months. From 1969 onwards, he was advisor for the South Vietnam military in the Rung Sat Special Zone for two and a half years. Most of that time was spent with small units and getting experience of raids, ambushes, riverine operations and intelligence gathering with the Central Intelligence Agency.23 During his last year he led the Rung Sat’s Provincial Reconnaissance Unit. He received numerous awards for valor in combat and was wounded three times.4

Intelligence Support Activity (ISA)[edit]

In April 1983, after having been offered a job at the White House Science Advisor’s office, he was approached by the Intelligence Support Activity (ISA) to replace the previous U.S. Marine representative and ISA deputy operations officer. He conducted numerous missions as an ISA operative and was with the team that hunted down and targeted those responsible for the bombing of the Marine barracks in Beirut, which killed 241 servicemen (220 Marines, 18 Navy personnel and 3 Army personnel). He retired from the ISA after what he perceived as inaction by the Pentagon towards dealing with this incident.

After he retired from the ISA, he worked as legislative assistant to Senator Warren B. Rudman during the hearings of the Iran Contra scandal, and was a key staff member in drafting the legislation which created the U.S. Special Operations Command in Tampa, Florida.

Following his time as a staff assistant to Senator Warren Rudman he again became involved with global terrorism and the Middle East. Cowan was involved in some of the most famous hostage rescues of the Middle East. One of his rescues, the 1990 rescue of American businessmen in Kuwait after Saddam Hussein had invaded that country, was the object of a documentary where some secrets about his organization were revealed, such as the fact that organization operatives used to obtain fake passports issued by a man in Paris to enter countries where people were being held. This operation was conducted in combination with former CIA director Bill Colby.

Following the events of 9/11, Cowan was called on again by the government and he continues to support various Pentagon and Homeland Security programs.

Cowan has a graduate degree in computer science and is a member of Mensa. But he is known internationally for his expertise in counterterrorism, intelligence, and military special operations. He has also been a Fox News Channel contributor since 2001, has been a co-host with Ambassador Dick Carlson on the radio and television show Danger Zone, and he has written articles for The Washington Post and been featured in several television shows apart from the documentary such as 60 Minutes, Larry King Live and others. He is married to the former Velvet Leigh Shelton, a conservative political activist from Mount Airy, North Carolina.

A quick look at his Wikipedia profile would have told O’Reilly what his ideology is. I thought O’Reilly had a research staff? I thought O’Reilly works at a “NEWS” organization?

These people make me sad for our country.

From Joseph West’s comment:

“No matter how many right-wing nutjobs prove that the Left doesn’t have a lock on hate, the right-wing refuses to acknowledge the haters on their side.”

Right you are Joe — especially the people who inhabit FoKKKs Nashun — er, I mean — http://www.foxnation.com , the MOST VILE, RACIST, AND RAW SEWAGE FILLED HATE WEBSITE ON THE FACE OF THE EARTH!

’Nuff said.

But just remember, folks—according to the right-wingers (FoxNoise included), it’s only “liberals” who are hateful of others.

No matter how many right-wing nutjobs prove that the Left doesn’t have a lock on hate, the right-wing refuses to acknowledge the haters on their side.

This is at least the second Fox talking head to long for violence against Obama supporters.
