Bill O’Reilly has a new judge he wants to vilify and maybe even terrify. It seems a Washoe County, Nevada judge reduced the sentence of an elderly child molester from ten years to life to only one year in jail - despite molesting a six year-old girl 100 times. The case has received national attention. So we don’t blame O’Reilly for focusing on it and even criticizing the judge. But O’Reilly went way beyond criticizing and threw a temper tantrum of off-the-wall malice. O'Reilly demanded the judge be impeached immediately and threatened to send a producer to ambush him.
O’Reilly’s two guests for the discussion were Fox News toady Kimberly Guilfoyle and the more independent-thinking Lis Wiehl.
“It’s really a travesty of justice,” Guilfoyle predictably announced. She later agreed with O’Reilly that the judge should be impeached immediately.
“This guy acts like he is the Roman emperor out there,” O’Reilly declared, without a bit of irony. The judge's name and photo were repeatedly displayed on the screen. Don't tell me it wasn't done to intimidate.
As for the immediate impeachment, Wiehl said, “Well, he’s retiring in a couple months.”
“Doesn’t matter! You have to symbolically hold them accountable!” Emperor O’Reilly proclaimed.
“Understood,” Wiehl said. But Wiehl, who is a real lawyer, suggested that there were not enough grounds to impeach. She explained that the lenient sentence imposed by the judge was in line with the standards for the time that abuse had happened. “The legal loophole here is important,” she said.
O'Reilly doesn't need no stinkin' law degree to know better than his legal expert!
O'Reilly thundered his indifference to the law:
It doesn’t matter, Wiehl. Why can’t I get this through your head?
…This is simple. And I want everybody to understand this. Put the judge’s picture up there again. …This isn’t about a loophole. …This is about (Judge) Brent Adams, knowing that a six year-old girl in his county was molested 100 times by a despicable human being.
…And this judge takes the family of this girl and the girl, herself, and says, ‘You know what? I, Brent Adams, am gonna give one year to this monster! …There is no excuse on earth! For that! And the people in Nevada and Washoe County should immediately get impeachment on the table up against him! Make him an example for the rest of the country. This has to stop! Do we all get it?
“Get rid of him!” Guilfoyle shouted in sycophantic agreement. “We all agree because he’s as bad as the predator!”
Really taking the law into his own hands – or camera – now, O’Reilly added:
So, I might send (stalker producer) Watters out to talk to this judge. I might do that. So Judge Adams, you know, I know what you’re going to do. You’ll run away. OK? That’s what you’ll do, you coward. Alright, you’ll run away. Because you can’t justify this.
…This has got to stop in this country! We cannot be the nation that the world looks to if we allow this to happen! Every American has got to stand up and say to judges You have to protect the children and punish child molesters.
…The prosecutors have got to speak out, too!
But despite all O’Reilly’s grandstanding, it’s hard to see how threatening to impeach a soon-to-be-retired judge and/or embarrassing him on national television is going to reduce child molestation. Does O’Reilly really think that attacking judges is the solution to anything other than puffing his own self up at the expense of others who actually toil in the field?
And here’s another thing to consider: O’Reilly is no poster child for respect and kindness. In fact, he has been formally accused of sexual harassment by one former producer - which he quickly settled. Gabriel Sherman’s recent book, The Loudest Voice In The Room, reported that another female producer was so terrorized by his abusive behavior that “a senior Fox executive was called in and escorted the woman, in tears, out of the building to calm her down.”
So maybe O'Reilly ought to clean up his own house before he starts barging into others and barking orders.
(knuckles cracked)
what does bill oreilly have to do with a judge letting a repeat, admitted, child molester off with 1 yr.,
I don’t know about bill oreilly’s offense, no one does. are we going to try that case here?
I am not famous, but I assume a lot of famous people get accused of things they may or may not have done. oreilly’s guilt or innocence is not what’s at question here.
it is so strange to me that some people here are deflecting from the real tragedy that a child was molested, and the judge saw fit to give such a little punishment for such a heinous crime. and bill oreilly happens to bring that to light.
and no, sandman you idiot, it is not too bad that a child molester doesn’t have millions of dollars to defend himself.
not sure why you would think its too bad.
probably one of the dumbest things I’ve ever heard.
“oh, its okay that a child molester gets minimum sentence, if only because bill oreilly may or may not have done something inappropriate too, him if bill can do it, lets not arrest anyone”
oh what a great argument. idiot
The child molester SHOULD go to prison.
However, it’s a little hypocritical of a sexual harasser like O’Reilly to be so hysterical over this.
um, yes,
“Does O’Reilly really think that attacking judges is the solution to anything”
brings to light this scum bag, maybe others will reconsider, knowing they may be in the spot light, etc. I do not see any negatives. and the fact you want to tarnish a man for bringing something like this to light, and berate him because he angry about it, makes you, not him, look like an idiot.
I have 3 young kids, and when I hear stories like this, I want to just scream, kill, maim, those people, and the judge is as guilty for not: 1) setting the right punishment, 2) setting the right example
you make me sick
Bill O’reilly goes overboard, at times, he is not perfect. but at least he is making a stand
get a clue
Where did I get it? Bill O’Reilly said he is 69 years old right in the introduction, in the video embedded here. It’s also in the USA Today article I linked to in my first paragraph.
So either you didn’t bother to check your facts before calling us names or you ignored the facts because calling us names was more important to you.
While the aspects of the case are seemingly strange, Billy needs to remember he is not a lawyer. More importantly, Billy just MIGHT have a little more to say in this matter if he was not so (to put it politely) obsessed with Miley Cyrus.
Hey Billy, if you’re so concerned with “protecting the children” here’s an idea. Make a large donation to CPS, and/or a Survivor’s group/non profit in The State of Nevada. Just think…….You would be helping the victims of abuse, AND you’d really burn up Hannity who still hasn’t been, “dunked” for charity just yet.
Put your money where your mouth is Bill. Otherwise, stop screaming on your show just for ratings, and also, come to terms with the fact that Miley and Angelina don’t want to come over and play, “House” with you.
Thank you for letting me post.
Very Sincerely,
The Palace Worm
And, let’s remember that, according to the right-wing sense of legal theory, “settling out of court” = “guilty” (which is one reason Billdo never mentions his little “indiscretion”).
That Bill likes lynch-mob justice is amply demonstrated by his positions on so many issues where his rhetoric is aimed at rattling the chains of those who want to take out their frustrations on the world at large.
Let’s ask the masses about Billy’s outrage on that topic.
News Alert!
The Stop Hannity Express says Putin-fan Hannocchio will be at the 22nd Williston Basin Petroleum Conference, May 20-22 at Bismarck, North Dakota. He’s cuddling up to several oil and gas industry leaders.
Hannocchio says, “I care about this great country and believe in the American dream. I am thrilled to support the effort to make America energy independent, and get America back to work.”
We are sure the oil and gas boys will pay for his round trip on a luxury private jet, and pay his speaking fee.
And before butt boy Jesse starts stalking, he may want to check to see if Nevada is one of those stand-your-ground States.
