Last week, Fox News spent the least amount of time covering slain NYPD Officer Rafael Ramos’s funeral than either CNN or MSNBC. Today, Fox repeated its dis with its lack of coverage of murdered NYPD Officer Wenjian Liu.
As you probably know, Ramos and Liu are the two NYPD officers shot to death in Brooklyn in late December. The events precipitated a finger-pointing lather of pro-police posturing by Fox ever since. But, apparently, the love stopped when it came time to honoring the officers' memorials.
Last week, I wrote about Fox's coverage (or lack thereof) of Ramos' memorial:
When the service began for Ramos, just after 10 AM ET, CNN covered it live from start to finish. MSNBC covered Vice President Biden’s speech live, as well as updates from reporters and interviews. But Fox News aired its Cost of Freedom business block. They had some brief updates, but that was it.
Mediaite has the details of Fox's coverage (or lack thereof) of Liu's memorial:
CNN and MSNBC both broke into regular programming to cover Mayor Bill de Blasio and Commissioner Bill Bratton’s eulogies for officer Wenjian Liu, and led up to the event with live commentary. Fox, however, stayed with MediaBuzz while streaming the remarks online.
...Fox gave a quick update during a newsbreak halfway through MediaBuzz, and aired a quick segment (under three minutes) on the event immediately following.
Is this Fox’s way of turning its back on Mayor de Blasio, as some dissident NYPD officers have done? I report, you decide.

I am, however, happy to see that De Blasio is not being slammed for being of Italian origin. Used to be Italians were no more acceptable than the Irish or Catholics or Jews. Those forms of racism have evolved and I can only hope that being different in other ways will eventually be acceptable, too.
These cafeteria Catholics’ internal goal is to pressure the removal of de Blasio from office. They won’t stop until the mayor either resigns, or is recalled from office.
These worthless, third-rate senior executives-and these men know who they are-make the Irish mob look like Boy Scouts.
They can take their internal memos and shove it in their Irish stew.
