The only thing worse than Herman Cain’s completely uninformed “medical” opinion about Hillary Clinton’s coughing fit was Sean Hannity’s failure to challenge its credibility.

You may recall that Hannity futilely tried last month to turn some innocuous video of Hillary Clinton joking with reporters into evidence that she had had a “mini seizure.” Not only did his two physician guests refuse to diagnose Clinton from a video (debunked by a reporter who was there), Hannity was called out by CNN’s Brian Stelter for engaging in “reckless speculation.”

Stelter’s criticism obviously got to Hannity because he repeatedly attacked Stelter on the air, calling him a “pipsqueak.” But that didn't stop Hannity from doubling down - or worse - last night.

Remember Hannity’s slobbering adulation of one Dr. Bill Hammesfahr? He was the quack who assured Hannity that brain-dead Terri Schiavo was “completely aware and conscious and responsive” and could be rehabilitated. Apparently, even Hammesfahr wasn’t available to liken Clinton to Schiavo.

So Hannity had to turn to his Medical T team, Laura Ingraham and Cain. They may not have medical degrees, licenses or professional experiences but they have something better than that as far as Hannity is concerned: They’re Trump supporters.

To prime the pump, so to speak, Hannity played video of two Clinton coughing fits and ran it as B-roll during the discussion.

“She has these coughing fits one after another, after another,” Hannity said ominously. “So, do we now have a right to inquire a little bit more deeply about what the situation is with her health?”

Ingraham remembered that she was a lawyer, not a doctor. “As a former white collar litigator, I would say that Hillary Clinton opened the door to questions about her health,” she said.

But Cain outdid Hammesfahr who, at least, had examined his patient:

CAIN: This shows that [Clinton’s] staff is pushing her out there despite her physical condition. She needs to get medical help. It’s one thing to have one coughing spell but to continue to have multiple coughing spells and they get long and long and longer, her staff is not being sensitive to the fact that maybe she needs to step back. They don’t want to do that because it might continue to add to a lot of the rhetoric and a lot of the perception that maybe she’s not healthy enough to do this.

Hannity did not challenge a word of this tripe.
