Sean Hannity might be a vicious race baiter and right wing propaganda pusher; but he is also a conservative "pro-life" Catholic whose dislike of abortion and Planned Parenthood is almost as palpable as his dislike of President Obama. While he isn't as strident as his fellow Fox News conservative "pro-life" Catholic, Bill O'Reilly, Hannity doesn't waste an opportunity to highlight his support for those who are anti-choice. Last week, he interviewed a member of the Super Bowl winning Baltimore Ravens, Matt Birk, who, because of his views on abortion and Planned Parenthood, was conspicuously absent when his team recently visited the White House. For Hannity it was a propaganda touchdown as he was able to validate Birk's anti-choice views as well as work in, once again, in the standard anti-choice meme about how Pres. Obama didn't support the Illinois "born alive" bill. Goal?

Fox News viewers must be on summer vacation. Or maybe they finally figured out how to properly email their favorite “fair and balanced” news network. Whatever the reason, we received fewer emails apparently intended for Fox last week. Still, quantity does not equal quality and I hope you’ll find them as enjoyable as I did.

In case you missed it, Tea Party Senator Ted Cruz has been revealed as a modern-day Joe McCarthy, thanks to the reporting of the New Yorker. The magazine quoted him a few months ago as saying Harvard Law School had “twelve” Communists who “believed in the overthrow of the U.S. Government” on its faculty when he attended in the early nineties. That allegation is disputed by one of Cruz’ former professors, Charles Fried, a Republican who served as Solicitor General in the Reagan administration. But yesterday, Megyn Kelly, in a segment obviously designed to present Cruz as a conservative victim of liberals, “asked,” when confronted with Cruz’ McCarthy-esque allegation, “But do you have reason to believe that’s not true?”

Monica Crowley came up with yet another conspiracy theory last night. After announcing, “We know entitlements are narcotics,” she “just asked” if Washington lawmakers are “actively trying” to hook people on them “in order to lock in a permanent Democratic voting majority?” And yet, she didn’t lift even a single manicured finger to find the answer. However, that didn’t stop Fox Business host Lou Dobbs, her guest, from supporting her thesis as a conclusion “easily reached.”

Newly-minted Fox News contributor Allen West got right in the swim of things when he called Attorney General a "bigger threat" than Al Qaeda. For that, West won our Most Outrageous Quote of the Week poll last week, narrowly beating out Dr. Keith Ablow who accused President Obama of waging "psychological warfare" on Americans.

My favorite conspiracy theorist, Monica Crowley, is at it again. Her latest far-fetched fantasy just happened to include a deliberate effort to provoke fear and loathing of the IRS by baselessly suggesting that taxpayers would face agents armed with semi-automatic assault rifles during audits. She was assisted with that fear mongering by none other than Martha MacCallum, a supposedly objective host with a penchant for GOP talking points.

In case you’ve missed it, there’s been a flurry of media speculation about the reasons why 82 year-old Rupert Murdoch filed for divorce against his serial home-wrecker of a wife, 44 year-old Wendi Deng. Today’s NY Daily News promises that a “jaw-dropping” reason could come in days. Hint: Think Tony Blair.

On June 11, Priscilla reported that Laura Ingraham said that Plan B emergency contraception encourages rape and pedophilia. Last night, during her appearance on The O’Reilly Factor, Bill O’Reilly pretty much validated her wild-eyed craziness.

Remember how Sarah Palin "quit" Fox News saying it was important to reach for a broader audience and not just preach to the choir? Well, apparently, the quittingest half-term governor can't even stick to her quitting. She's back in the Fox saddle with a new tune. We'll see how long she keeps this one up.

Bill Cosby wrote an op-ed recently that you would think Fox News would have praised, slobbered over even. It offered up harsh criticism of African Americans’ “apathy” over drug use in their own community. He even admonished them for being harsher on white drug pushers than their own. Instead, the Hannity show seized on one paragraph in which Cosby praised the clean living of Black Muslims. So out came Muslim-hater Allen West to call Cosby crazy.
