Jon Stewart briefly took over The Late Show with Stephen Colbert last night and delivered just the kind of hilarious takedown of Donald Trump and his biggest on-air supporter, Sean Hannity, that we’ve all been jonesing for this campaign season. With bonus digs at Roger Ailes!

Fox News got in a little dig at Ted Cruz for not endorsing Donald Trump Wednesday night by trotting out Cruz supporter Phil Robertson, of Duck Dynasty, who announced he and his family are now “all in with” Trump.

You know a Donald Trump speech is bad when Fox News host Chris Wallace calls it “an endurance test.”

The New York Times reports that Roger Ailes has resigned from Fox News, following numerous accusations that he sexually harassed women at Fox, and that Rupert Murdoch will replace him.

Many decent people have been aghast at the Trump associates calling for the murder and/or imprisonment of Hillary Clinton during the Republican convention. But Fox News’ Meghan McCain seems to think there’s no such thing as too incendiary.

Bill O’Reilly lashed out at Montel Williams Wednesday night for walking out before a scheduled appearance. O’Reilly called Williams a “coward” and vowed never to have him on the show again. So Williams took to Periscope and posted the kind of response nobody has had the courage to say to O’Reilly previously.

Serial adulterer Newt Gingrich has again tossed aside his supposedly fervent belief in personal responsibility to both defend Melania Trump’s plagiarism and come up with an evidence-free conspiracy theory that blamed the liberal media. Sean Hannity helped the cause with numerous falsehoods and distortions. 

One-time liberal hero Dennis Kucinich, now a Fox News contributor, didn’t just dismiss concerns about Melania Trump’s plagiarism at the Republican convention, he outright praised her speech for having shown a “very loving” spirit.

Despite the back-and-forth confusion of Roger Ailes' status at Fox News in the rest of the media earlier, I think we can take it as gospel when the Murdoch-owned New York Post says he's about to be dethroned. But will he really be gone?

In what may be the single most important development at Fox News since it was formed, CEO Roger Ailes is reportedly leaving the network he turned into a Republican propaganda juggernaut. UPDATED: Fox has walked back the report. But The New York Times has reported Ailes and parent company 21st Century Fox are in "advanced stages" of negotiating his departure.
