Despite the back-and-forth confusion of Roger Ailes' status at Fox News in the rest of the media earlier, I think we can take it as gospel when the Murdoch-owned New York Post says he's about to be dethroned. But will he really be gone?
From a New York Post article called, "The end is near for Roger Ailes":
Fox News boss Roger Ailes is negotiating his exit from the cable outfit after 20 years in the news business.
The article notes that neither Fox News nor its owner, 21st Century Fox, would confirm that the exit is happening. But this is clearly not a denial:
Fox News owner 21st Century Fox maintained that, “Roger is at work. The review is ongoing. And the only agreement that is in place is his existing employment agreement.”
However, there could be a consulting contract:
While the terms or certainty of an Ailes exit may not yet have been reached — or may not be reached — a Drudge Report headline on Tuesday afternoon blared that the executive’s exit would come with a $40 million parachute.
It would also contain a consulting contract through 2017, Drudge reported.
Ailes would be indemnified against any claims against him or the company, according to a purported separation agreement, dated July 22, that was posted on Drudge. It was quickly taken down.
So could Ailes be removed as CEO but still run the network as a consultant? Even though the reason he's purportedly leaving is because of sexual harassment, as first raised in Gretchen Carlson's lawsuit and also reportedly accused by Megyn Kelly? We'll have to see.
Meanwhile, you can watch Fox's Howard Kurtz announce that Ailes is still on the job as of July 19.
He said if allegations of sexual harassment aren’t true they why did he surround himself with so many dildos? Up pops pictures of everybody’s favorite Fox News male talent like Steve Doocy. Too funny!
Breaking: Tuesday’s #RNCinCLE numbers are in and Fox News is seeing a big drop in viewership. Not a good sign Republicans are enjoying #RNCinCLE debacle.
NBC News grows. Somebody is enjoying the train wreck! 👌

TVNewser has the details but let me give you an example:
July 18, 8-11 pm Total viewers 25-54 demo %
Fox News: 5,503,000 1,301,000 23.6%
CNN: 3,603,000 1,181,000 32.8%
July 18, 10-11
Fox News: 6,348,000 1,600,000 25.2%
CNN: 3,943,000 1,373,000 34.8%
NBC: 3,913,000 1,636,000 41.8%
I’d love to see the further demography: Race, ethnicity, sex, and educational level/income.
Jabba’s lawyers, including personal crony Peter Johnson Jr (aka Penis 3), are trying to cut the best exit deal for him. Big severance $ ($40 M or so), indemnification from Fux for his past sexual misdeeds, some bogus title to salve his ego (special consultant to the chairman) and a jointly written puff statement praising him.
MSNBC’s demographics are the mostly under 50 crowd. Advertisers would rather sell a new Toyota than Geritol.
Faux might be hungry for that demographic after all these years. They are a business as well as propaganda arm of the GOP. They might want to see how well the Donald sells to Toyota buyers. If things go badly enough for Paul Ryan and crew, Faux could say, “You’re on your own.”.
While anyone demonstrating Ailes disgusting behavior of abuse needs to get the boot quickly, all the wishful thinking Fox News will quickly become fair and balanced once he’s gone I feel is slim.
Fox News is #1 in viewership watching #RNCinCLE. Certainly they typically beat fellow news cable news channels CNN and MSNBC. What’s a bit unusual is it’s beating all the networks – CBS, NBC, and ABC – as well once they come online later in night.
I was looking at the numbers and adding them all up (except PBS which was noticeably absent in the numbers). Fox News is getting ~21% of the eyeballs. Which isn’t that far off from the percentage of diehard conservatives in America I’d estimate.
While the ratings point out it’s an older demographic so not as profitable as Fox would like it’s dependable and a huge slice of news junkies. Point being I don’t think Murdoch – who conveniently shares the same right-wing ideology and has a history of promoting it internationally via his many assets – will give up the hardcore, right-wing spin on Fox News over the profits in generating pure propaganda alone.
Lifelong Republican media guy Ailes did the hard work of putting together the formula for the propaganda factory. It’ll be a lot easier for some right-winger like Bill Shine to rise into Roger’s seat and carry on going forward.
But as far as phoning work in, I think that Ailes is so old that he wouldn’t be happy with that. I think he would probably be AT work or not bothered at all.
21st Century Fox has policies in place that forbids harassment of employees. The Murdochs have no choice but to oust this fool. We remind the Murdochs to abide by their Standards of Business Conduct. Newshounds, post this information until Ailes is removed from his position. We ask others to post this to all social media.
21st Century Fox Policy On Harassment in the Workplace

Therefore, it is our policy to provide a safe work environment, free of unlawful harassment, intimidation and discrimination.
Harrassment-Free: We endeavor to ensure that the workplace is free of bullying and unlawful harassment, whether that harassment is sexual in nature, or is based on an employee’s sex, race, religion or any other characteristic protected by applicable law. It is our policy to investigate promptly and thoroughly any 21CF colleague complaint of discrimination or harassment, and to take remedial measures, if the Company determines that there has been a violation of the Company’s policy against such conduct."

NOTE TO MURDOCHS
Standards of Business Conduct says….“free of bullying and unlawful harassment whether that harassment is sexual in nature…”
“As Employees: We understand that if we witness or experience harassment or discrimination, we have an affirmative obligation to report such conduct to a manager in Human Resources or an attorney in the Legal Department.”
Stick to your Standards of Business Conduct, or get called out on social media, radio and television. It’s your choice.
NOTE TO FOX “NEWS” MOUTHPIECES
Go ahead and walk. A lot of you condone this type of behavior in the workplace, prefer employees to keep quiet, and not to say anything. Go ahead and walk out. You can be replaced very easily. You will save the next CEO/President of Fox “News” the headache of ousting you anyway, and you know who you are you worthless bunch of cowards.
