Esquire: Hannity Is Going To Help Get Someone Killed Promoting Nevada Range War
Esquire didn’t mince any words in its article about Sean Hannity’s promotion of the Bundy family’s armed insurrection in Nevada: Hannity is going to help get somebody killed one of these days. And they are right on the money about it.

On Saturday, Donald Trump joined Fox News’ Vladimir Putin unofficial fan club. You may recall that last week, Fox’s Ralph Peters slobbered over Russia’s President Putin. Saturday, Trump visited Cashin’ In’s special “Freedom Summit” that also included Sarah Palin and Rand Paul.

We can add “objective” Fox News host Harris Faulkner and “Democrats” Doug Schoen and Pat Caddell to the list of Fox News personnel willing – and seemingly eager - to cheer on and promote Nevada rancher Cliven Bundy’s armed insurrection against the federal government. So sympathetic were Schoen and Caddell to Bundy that they suggested it was the federal government that’s lawless and that Bundy is merely “the first spark” in a (deserved) uprising to come.

Todd Starnes is always quick to tweet about black on white crime and brawls involving black youth in order to advance the white, right wing, and Fox News narrative that white America is at the mercy of vicious gangs of marauding black thugs. And when a man carrying material from the Southern Poverty Law Center shot a guard at the headquarters for the hate group, the Family Research Council, Starnes didn't waste an opportunity to tweet about it. But being a good Christian and all, you would think that Starnes would be outraged about the recent shooting deaths of Christians, outside two Kansas Jewish community centers, allegedly perpetrated by a white supremacist whose views about the Jews are as vile as those of Starnes' culture warrior soul brotha, Jerry Boykin. Yet, not a word about it on his twitter feed which is full of righteous patriotic outrage over the so called "range war" which is a cause celebre for right wing militia types and Fox News.
Read moreFox News’ Latest Excuse To Promote Rancher’s Armed Insurrection In Nevada
Sean Hannity is far from the only Fox host cheerleading a Nevada rancher’s armed conflict with the federal government. As even Fox’s Megyn Kelly has acknowledged, rancher Cliven Bundy, “doesn’t have a (legal) leg to stand on” in his beef with the Bureau of Land Management. And he has threatened the safety and well-being of law enforcement personnel. But Fox & Friends proved this morning that the “fair and balanced” network cares more about tearing down the U.S. government than it cares about the rule of law, the safety of Americans or even the truth.

First, it was Russia the Fox News conservatives kept slobbering over. Now, it's North Korea. That is, if recent remarks by Mike Huckabee are any indication.

Fox News’ Brit Hume echoed colleague Bill O’Reilly – with help from Fox host Chris Wallace – when he snubbed the anniversary of the Civil Rights Act in favor of a racial attack on President Obama and Eric Holder. In this case, Hume complained, “Both Eric Holder and Barack Obama have benefited politically enormously from the fact that they are African-American.” Hume later added, “(T)o those two men race has been both a shield and a sword that they have used effectively to defend themselves and to attack others.”

In take taking down conservative culture clubber Brent Bozell's claim, during Megyn Kelly's show, that the Spanish language Univision is biased because they support the ACA, Jon Stewart used the opportunity to highlight the dramatic difference between how Fox Nation and Fox News Latino cover issues related to Hispanics. This difference is manifest in articles, currently on both websites, about the Denver school district's recruitment of teachers who came to this country without documentation but who now have status under "Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals." The difference in how Fox Nation and Fox News Latino is like the difference between black and white - and, in the case of Fox News, this figure of speech is quite literal!
