In take taking down conservative culture clubber Brent Bozell's claim, during Megyn Kelly's show, that the Spanish language Univision is biased because they support the ACA, Jon Stewart used the opportunity to highlight the dramatic difference between how Fox Nation and Fox News Latino cover issues related to Hispanics. This difference is manifest in articles, currently on both websites, about the Denver school district's recruitment of teachers who came to this country without documentation but who now have status under "Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals." The difference in how Fox Nation and Fox News Latino is like the difference between black and white - and, in the case of Fox News, this figure of speech is quite literal!
According to America's angry, white network, the school district is hiring, as Steve Doocy claimed, "illegal aliens." The Fox Nation article: "Denver Public Schools Recruiting Illegal Immigrants to Teach." (The original article is titled "DPS to Hire Previously Undocumented Immigrants.") Fox News Latino (AP) article: "Colorado School District Hires DREAMer Teachers Under New Policy." As explained on Media Matters, this is all quite legal. And as explained in both articles, the recruitment was done with the best interests of the students in mind.
WTF?/ Qué la cogida?
Their wording is a lot funnier, but the point is something we shouldn’t be laughing at.
