Ed Henry Pretends He Walked Out Of White House Press Briefing Because He Was Late
Fox News’ White House correspondent Ed Henry walked out of a White House press briefing Friday after a public snubbing from White House Press Secretary Jay Carney. Yesterday, Henry insisted he wasn’t walking out in protest, he just had work to do. But he would have stayed if he had been called on.

Dennis Michael Lynch is an "entrepreneur" and "filmmaker" whose xenophobic films earn him warm validation whenever he appears on Fox News. To say that Lynch's films are "documentaries" is a bit of a stretch given that they are really an extension of Lynch's paranoid belief that this country is being "invaded" by imaginary hordes of murderous "illegal aliens" some of whom are murderous Al Qaeda. Lynch knows this because - wait for it - he has seen discarded prayer rugs and Korans in the desert. Last week, the Daily Show's Aasif Manvi did a brilliant take down of Lynch who, once again, demonstrated his tenuous hold on reality. What is really pathetic is that his outlandish claims ("illegals" increase your daughter's chance of being raped) and his disdain for real data are taken seriously on Fox News - which, despite its claim of being "real news," is another type of comedy show! Enjoy.

It isn't surprising that the Fox audience is misinformed, given the panoply of partisan crap that is spewed on Fox News shows which, if they're "opinion" shows, are exempt from the "fair & balanced" part of the Fox News logo. But taking best in show, is Fox & Friends which is consistently misinforming its audience. It was only a week ago that the show was forced to apologize for and correct its fake story about how Pres. Obama personally funded a Muslim museum during the "slimdown." Today's diversion from reality was provided by Brian "all terrorists are Muslims," Kilmeade who asked "why now" in a discussion about how Washington Redskins is considered a racial slur. That sports guy Kilmeade is either too lazy to do some research or is merely conveying the Roger Ailes framing of the issue as much ado about nothing was demonstrated by his suggestion that the controversy is recent when it has been around for over FORTY YEARS!

While the "fair & balanced" Fox News does have some left of center contributors, it maintains a stable of conservatives, some of whom are in the totally batshit crazy category such as Sandy Rios who has compared same sex love to the rape and torture perpetrated by Ariel Castro. Fox's newest contributor, Dr. Ben Carson, isn't quite this extreme about teh gay; but his views on women's reproductive rights are straight out of the misogynist playbook of the radical anti-choice movement which has brought us such luminaries as Todd "legitimate rape" Aiken. At last week's Values Voters Summit, Carson reinforced the right wing narrative that there is no war on women and the patriarchy knows best about what we silly, misinformed women really need when it comes to our lady parts. True story.

She said this weekend, “We made a bad mistake by reporting a story based on poor research that was not true. We apologize for not checking the facts.” But there was something important she did not say.

On Friday, Fox News took its war on the Affordable Care Act ("Obamacare") to a whole new, dangerous level when Fox News contributor Guy Benson urged young people to go without health insurance. Host Gretchen Carlson not only helped validate Benson’s idea, she never pointed out the very serious dangers in such a proposition.

Screw poor women and babies that need food through a WIC program that has been curtailed as a result of the government "slim down." In the alternate reality of the right wing, the most egregious result of the shut down of government services was the closing off of a veteran's monument - a closing that allowed members of the GOP crazy caucus to have a great photo-op with the vets who broke through the barricades. And because immigration activists were allowed to have a rally on National Mall, right wing veterans are mad as hell. Their righteous wrath was documented by wingnut "filmmaker" Dennis Lynch whose oeuvre consists of xenophobic pieces of paranoia, pimped on Fox, about how those "illegals" are sneaking into America to slit your throat. So are we surprised that he would be warmly welcomed by new opinion show host Megyn Kelly who was muy sympatico with the white, racist veteran featured in Lynch's video....
