Did Fr. Jonathan Morris Fail To Tow Fox Line Re Brain Dead Girl?
Fox News solidified its "pro-life" creds when, as part of the media circus outside Terri Schiavo's hospice, Fox hosts (particularly Sean Hannity) openly supported Terri's own family's (Schindler) attempts to override her husband's decision to take her off life support. And now that a California teen has been declared brain dead after tonsil surgery, the anti-choice movement is supporting her family's attempts to keep her on artificial life support. Fox is now taking up this sad situation. Not surprisingly, Fox's Mike Huckabee is also supporting the family's decision. Thus, I was expecting that official Foxpriest, Fr. Jonathan Morris would adhere to what I speculated was the official Fox "pro-life" position. Surprisingly, his comments about the matter, on this morning's Fox & Friends, were a bit unexpected.

We didn't have enough mail last week for our regular weekly roundup of emails sent to us but meant for Fox. But this week is a different story. In fact, some of these seem like real doozies. Also, it seems we may be expanding our email "reach" to other Fox/News Corp. companies. Lucky us!

Fox’s Charles Krauthammer gave Special Report viewers and staff a belated Christmas present last week when he declared that Hillary Clinton will be a “weak candidate.”

The GOP/Fox News right never wastes an opportunity to attack the Affordable Care Act because in attacking the law they attack the president. What really pisses them off is that the law includes the requirement that employers' health plans include contraceptive coverage. Churches and other primarily religious groups are exempt. Despite the administration's compromise, that the birth control costs be assumed by the insurer, groups (primarily Catholic) filed lawsuits including one from an order of Catholic nuns. This week, Justice Sotomayor, granted these nuns a temporary enjoinment from the law. Immediately, the right wing seized the moment to attack the president for persecuting the poor sisters - a false claim that dovetails with their belief that Obama hates Christians. Enter, stage right, Fox News which has provided ongoing support for the Catholic bishops' opposition to the mandate. And who better to tear into this red meat issue than the "moderate and reasonable" Megyn Kelly whose trademark outrage and snark clearly let us know what she was thinking

Dan Weiss, from the Center for American Progress, visited the Hannity show last night for a debate with host Eric Bolling. Even though “fair and balanced” Fox News producers stacked the deck with an introduction designed to make sure its viewers at least questioned climate change before Weiss came on.

For the third week in a row, we have a runaway winner of our Fox News Outrageous Quote of the Week poll. Don't tell me that Megyn Kelly didn't know exactly what she was doing when she joked on the air last night about sleeping with Fox News meteorologist, Janice Dean. After Dean gave an update on the ferocious winter storm Hercules, Kelly quipped, "So if they're canceling the trains, does that mean that you and I are having another night in bed together?"

You know the old legal aphorism? "If you have the facts on your side, pound the facts. If you have the law on your side, pound the law. If you have neither on your side, pound the table." That came to mind watching Bill O’Reilly rail against the New York Times in an effort to discredit their Benghazi investigation that was extremely damaging to Fox News’ year-long claims. Fortunately, for truth lovers, media critic Howard Kurtz showed some rare spine and integrity and smacked down some of O’Reilly’s bloviating but good.

In case you don't recognize Michael Scheuer's name, he appears regularly on Fox News as a foreign affairs/Middle East expert. But in a recent column on his website, Scheuer suggested that the patriotic thing to do is kill President Obama and England's Prime Minister David Cameron. One day later, he appeared on the Fox Business Network to paint Hillary Clinton as a murderer discuss Benghazi.
Read moreBrian Kilmeade Whines About 'Feminization Of Men' While Discussing 'Wussification' Of American Men!
While the women on Fox News are quite comely, Fox News men are not exactly macho stud muffins. (Picture Steve Doocy and Greg Gutfeld) Yet, Fox News, as part of its ongoing lament over the decline of traditional and patriarchal America, seems to be focused on the "wussification" of America as manifested by school yoga programs and paid internships, among other things. Roger Ailes' (not exactly Hugh Jackman) love for a Christian patriarch was certainly shown in Fox's support for the homophobic Duck Dynasty patriarch as well as the promotion of Suzanne Venker's anti-feminist lunacy. Fox & Friends got the wussification thing rolling with their promotion of the seriously deranged and homophobic views of Christian "comic" Brad Stine. Brian Kilmeade recently hosted a "mommy blogger" who wants "boys to be boys." And this morning, the Fox friends started 2014 with a lament about - wait for it - wussification of American men.
