Rupert Murdoch Wants Guinness Boycotted Over St. Patrick's Day Parade Pullout

Posted by Ellen · March 17, 2014 10:49 AM · 9 reactions

Rupert Murdoch stuck his nose into New York City politics today by "hoping" Irish people boycott Guinness. Why? Because they pulled out of the St. Patrick's Day Parade over its exclusion of gay and lesbian groups. Or, as Murdoch put it, Guinness pulled out of a "religious parade bullied by gay orgs who try to take it over."

Fox Complains About Too Much CNN Coverage Of Missing Malaysian Airplane

Posted by Ellen · March 16, 2014 6:08 PM · 9 reactions

Howard Kurtz made some legitimate points about the excessive media coverage of the missing Malaysian airplane mystery. But given that he speaks from the network that relentlessly covered the phony birther “issue,” that parked itself in front of a hospice, and even coached nurses, to promote cover the right-to-die case of Terri Schiavo, that spent weeks hyping bogus allegations of racial impropriety against Attorney General Eric Holder – well, it’s hard to take Kurtz’ criticism too seriously.

Fox & Friends Pimps 'Persecuted' Movie Because Religious Freedom Under Attack!

Posted by Priscilla · March 16, 2014 3:37 PM · 1 reaction

As Jon Stewart said, Fox News produces a "constant barrage of apocalyptic paranoia and outrage." This sage bit of wisdom is seen in Fox's ongoing promotion of the myth that American Christians are being persecuted by Satan's governmental minions whose evil gay and atheistic agendas seek to destroy our Christian nation. Meanwhile, back in the real world, these same whining Christians are seeking to deny civil rights for gays, roll back abortion rights, and force the teaching of Christian dogma in public schools because religious freedom. Last week, Fox&Friends, America's media haven for persecuted Christians, promoted a new Christian movie, hyped at CPAC, about - you guessed it - persecuted Christians.

Eric Bolling Pretends He And Jon Stewart ‘Have A Kumbaya Moment Here’

After getting a comedic slaughtering on The Daily Show a few nights ago, Eric Bolling answered back – by pretending he and Jon Stewart agree on the need to fight “waste and abuse in addition to food stamp fraud.” Which may be true as far as it goes but completely missed the point of Stewart’s epic smackdown.

Fox News Wants Americans To Go Hungry… For The Sake Of Freedom

Posted by · March 15, 2014 6:20 PM · 1 reaction

Fox News doesn’t just want to cut back on food stamps, they want to demonize those on food stamps as “takers.” The underlying message? Having them go hungry is good for the country. This, by the way, is the segment that prompted Jon Stewart’s epic response - which you can also watch here.

Megyn Kelly Promotes Radical Anti-Choice Group's Case Against Professor

Posted by Priscilla · March 14, 2014 7:01 PM · 1 reaction

Those who provide women with safe, reproductive health care face daily threats and harassment. Yet, incidents in which clinics are the targets of anti-choice violence are, as far as I know, ignored on Fox News which is an arm of the movement that seeks to eliminate safe, reproductive health care. Recently, a Montana abortion clinic was heavily damaged, allegedly by the son of a local anti-choice activist. Megyn Kelly, who was part of the Fox News hatefest directed against the murdered abortion provider, Dr. George Tiller, apparently didn't think it worthy of discussion. But she didn't have a problem showing her support for two anti-choice activists whose scuffle with an African-American college professor is now the top trender on anti-choice websites. Last night, during a context free discussion, Megyn Kelly proved, once again, the less than six degrees which separates Fox News from those who are waging a real war on women.
