Rupert Murdoch stuck his nose into New York City politics today by "hoping" Irish people boycott Guinness. Why? Because they pulled out of the St. Patrick's Day Parade over its exclusion of gay and lesbian groups. Or, as Murdoch put it, Guinness pulled out of a "religious parade bullied by gay orgs who try to take it over."
Murdoch tweeted:
Judging from the responses, I don't think Guinness has much to worry about.
Media Matters points out, "Murdoch's attack on Guinness' pro-equality stance comes after Fox News personalities repeatedly assailed New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio for not participating in the event and justified the parade's anti-gay discrimination by citing the existence of gay pride parades."
