Fox Blows Racist Dog Whistle Over Michelle Obama's Kidnapped Nigerian Schoolgirl Address
Leave it to "America loving" Fox Nation to seize upon Michelle Obama's weekend address about the kidnapped Nigerian schoolgirls - and use it as a racial dog whistle to suggest that the First Lady is in some kind of secret solidarity with the kidnappers.
Read moreElisabeth Hasselbeck Promotes Catholic Outrage Over Harvard Extension's Satanic Mass
As with so many issues, there is a double standard, on Fox News, regarding religious liberty issues. Last month, the network was all freedom of speech during their extensive criticism of an Islamic group which protested the showing of a film deemed offensive to Islam. Brandeis U drew Fox's ire when it cancelled Ayaan Hirsi Ali's honorary degree due to student opposition to her anti-Islamic commentary. But now that the Harvard Extension Cultural Club will be hosting a re-enactment of a "black mass," which some Harvard students, alumni, and the Catholic Church have condemned, Fox is throwing all that talk about academic free speech and tolerance out the window. This morning, Elisabeth Hasselbeck, in validating the view of a conservative Catholic Harvard student who opposes the event, showed that for Fox, not all free speech is created equal. And it was another opportunity to denigrate those Ivy dens of inequity so it was all good...
Read moreSteve Doocy Declares 'Miracle' When Boulder Narrowly Misses Christian Church
In addition to all those celestial journeys, during which the voyagers got to see white Jesus, Fox & Friends features miracles such when a toddler's cancer was cured by angels and an "angel" priest (who turned out to be quite corporeal) who appeared at the site of car crash. This morning, Fox's *between two ferns show (with Doocy and Kilmeade as the ferns) promoted another miracle involving a huge boulder which stopped just inches away from a Christian church. While it is undeniably a good thing that the church was not damaged and nobody got hurt, to ascribe the event to miraculous intervention is a bit of a stretch. But here's the thing. Considering that many churches have been damaged (many in the bible belt) by a variety of natural disasters, does this suggest that God plays favorites? Oh well, this is Fox & Friends where fact is fiction and miracles can happen!
Read moreFox News Outrageous Quote Of The Week Poll, Week Of 5/414 – 5/10/14
There was a lot of culture-war outrageousness on Fox last week. But we also caught Laura Ingraham wondering what we can do to help with the missing Nigerian schoolgirls because of Benghazi. Additionally, Monica Lewinsky seemed to bring out the crazy. Lynne Cheney put forth a conspiracy theory and Ann Coulter had some motherly advice for Lewinsky. Click on for the deets!
Read moreFox Finally Apologizes For Showing Wrong Asians In South Korea Ferry Disaster Report
Several weeks ago, in a report on the Sewol ferry disaster in South Korea, in which nearly 300 people died, Fox used footage of grieving Tibetans instead of Koreans. Despite repeated complaints to Fox, it took them several weeks to acknowledge the mistake and then apologize for it.
Read moreFox Loves The Sequester! The Truth About It, Not So Much!
Last week, Your World worked Fox’s misleading hype of the sequester into a project about the federal government’s green projects. Host Neil Cavuto pivoted with this question: “At a time when we’re spending billions upon billions doing this nonsense and seeing very little in terms of results, I’m kind of hearing the shallow echo of the sequester fears, and how much devastation it was going to cause with the sequestration cuts, most of which have been rescinded, Charles, and it’s hardly the end of the world.”
Read moreEric Bolling Hosts Benham Brothers For Whine About 'Gay Agenda'
Fox News has no problem objecting to the First Amendment rights of atheists who put up signs which are offensive to Christians. Yet, when the LGBT community and its supporters object to a cable TV program which would be showcasing two brothers with radical views about gays, Muslims, and abortion, it's all boo freaking hoo. Now that the plug has been pulled on Jason and David Benham's HGTV show, Fox News, for which there ain't no Christian like a persecuted Christian have given the Benham boyz a platform from which to rail against the insidious "gay agenda" which is something that Fox's Todd Starnes is intimately acquainted with. Thursday night, Megyn Kelly provided a tepid counterpoint to their whine. Friday night, subbing for Bill O'Reilly, the "traditional marriage" supporting Eric Bolling's response was equally tepid. Be afraid folks, be very afraid of the nefarious "gay agenda
Read moreWatch Fox News' Idea Of Benghazi Questions From 'Both Sides'
Fox host Chris Wallace asked Fox News Sunday viewers to submit questions for the panel “about accusations of politics on both sides of the Benghazi investigation.” But the questions selected were a perfect example of Fox News “balance”: one was pro-Republican and the other anti-Democrat. For extra GOP friendliness, Wallace took the liberty of throwing in the IRS on his own.
Read moreStephen Colbert Mocks Stuart Varney's Low Ratings
Fox Business And Stuart Varney got the Colbert treatment Thursday night as Colbert showed that Varney is keeping a "stiff upper face" despite his network's tanking ratings. "There's no one I love more on the F'Bizzle than Stu Varney!" Colbert exclaimed.
Read moreCavuto Hearts Giuliani: ‘One Of This Country’s Greatest Mayors’
Yesterday, Your World’s Neil Cavuto interviewed former New York City Mayor Rudolph Giuliani. They talked about the crisis in Ukraine and New York Mayor Bill de Blasio’s budget. The big takeaway wasn’t the interview, but what Cavuto said at the end when, instead of just thanking Giuliani, he kissed up to him. Big time.
