Fox Digs Up Another Imprisoned American - To Use Against Hillary Clinton
Just as I noted that Fox News has been using the case of Jon Hammar, imprisoned in Mexico on gun charges, as an excuse to attack the Obama administration and Hillary Clinton in particular, Sean Hannity trotted out a new case Wednesday night (12/19/12). This one involves an American pastor imprisoned in Iran. I think we can expect to hear a lot more about this one since it has the "benefit" of including Iran and a Christian martyr. Merry Christmas, indeedy!

As a devout Catholic watchdog who guards against evil secularism, Bill O'Reilly is concerned about affronts to the sacredness of Christmas which is, of course, a secular holiday not celebrated by all Americans and if celebrated, not necessarily done in a religious manner. And while real religious folks would say that Christmas is a time for helping one's neighbor, Bill cares more about things like the RI state tree which the RI Governor, Lincoln Chafee, has dubbed a "holiday tree," as did his Catholic GOP predecessor who got no grief from Bill about that truly mortal sin. Last night, Bill hosted the head of the Becket Fund, a group that defends religious freedom and which gives "awards" to those who defile Christmas. Not surprisingly, the top award was given to the RI Governor. Not surprisingly Bill used the opportunity to continue spreading his Christmas venom by continuing to attack Chafee. Peace on earth?

While Bill O'Reilly was quick to claim that the left wing media was exploiting the Newtown tragedy for political purposes, Fox News might be exploiting it in order to promote their conservative Christian agenda. Fox's Mike Huckabee used his Fox platform for using this horrific incident to promote the religious right's views on God having been "removed" from schools and public life. Other Christian pastors, who have appeared on Fox after the tragedy, spoke mainly about faith and connecting with God with little attention given to guns and gun violence in America. As such, by emphasizing religion over the very real political issue of gun violence, Fox seems to be in synch with the GOP whose silence, except for arming teachers, has been deafening. So in addition to religious exploitation, is Fox also guilty of politicizing the tragedy?

According to the conservative News Max, Roger Ailes feels that "the clear and present danger confronting America is secularism." That might explain the blatant promotion of conservative Christianity on the "fair & balanced" Fox News. If there is any doubt that Fox has become a secular conduit for Christian proselytization, Monday's Fox & Friends should erase that completely. In an attempt to further walk back his offensive statement that the Newtown massacre was due to the elimination of God from the schools, Huckabee talked about how those who have eliminated God are shit out of luck. His self promoting sermon, about the necessity of God and the necessity for Christians to stop apologizing for God, so moved Gretchen Carlson that she wept. Seriously, this is the kind of stuff that you see on Christian broadcasting - but this is supposedly a "real news, fair & balanced network?" Really?
Read moreJohn Bolton Accuses Hillary Clinton Of Faking A Concussion
Earlier this week, Hillary Clinton fainted as the result of a stomach flu and suffered a concussion. ABC News reports that she will likely be out sick for most of the rest of her term as Secretary of State. ABC also notes that this is not the first time Clinton has fainted as the result of an illness. But because this illness/injury has delayed her testifying about Benghazi, Fox has accused her of faking it.

Those folks at Fox News sure have strange ideas about how to make the Yule time bright – with their never-ending gripes about people saying, “Happy Holidays.” This morning, a professional Santa Claus visited Fox & Friends to discuss his new book about “the true meaning of Christmas.” Apparently, that amounts to saying, “Merry Christmas” and fighting political correctness.

Sarah Palin – that noted ignoramus on foreign policy – was trotted out on On The Record last night to offer up her deepest thoughts on Benghazi. Oh, and while she was at it to smear discuss Time Magazine’s choice of President Barack Obama as Person of the Year.

The propaganda on America's "Fair & Balanced" newsroom, Fox News, must be quite effective. Randall Linn, an Indiana man who pled guilty to setting a fire in a mosque, told the court that the reason for his shenanigans was that he got "riled up" as a result of watching Fox News. When the judge asked him if was acquainted with any Muslims or Islam, he responded "No, I only know what I hear on Fox News and what I hear on radio." This sterling example of the kind of American patriotism touted on Fox Nation said that “Muslims are killing Americans and trying to blow stuff up" and "most Muslims are terrorists and don’t believe in Jesus Christ.” Who says that Fox viewers aren't well informed!
World Net Daily Writer Uses O'Reilly's "Pinhead" In Blaming Jews For War On Christmas!
Bill O'Reilly's paranoid delusional rants about a "War on Christmas" include the frequent use of the term "pinhead" to describe those "secular-progressives" who are allegedly trying to "diminish Christian philosophy in the US." Meanwhile, there is some thought that Bill's crusade might have some unsavory anti-Semitic connections. He did earn a rebuke from the ADL over an offensive comment made, on his radio show, to a Jewish caller during a discussion of Christmas. Obviously the phrase, "happy holidays," which includes non-Christians, bothers Bill greatly. So it's rather interesting that a World Net Daily writer uses O'Reilly's favorite word "pinhead" to describe how his fellow Jews are to blame for the "war on Christmas." He also articulates several O'Reilly memes on religion and government. The article is titled "The Jewish Grinch Who Stole Christmas." The Baby Jesus must be so happy!

Watch out, Mexico! Bill O’Reilly says that if you don’t release American Jon Hammar from your prison by Christmas, 2013 “will be a bit rough” for you. Who knows what kind of danger lurks in the No Spin Zone in that case? A boycott? Or maybe Captain O’Reilly will pick up his weapon and lead an invasion!
